The Ultimate Haliverse Bundle!
Aug. 14th, 2020 07:40 pm
As previously noted, Founders House Publishing is preparing a series of bundle deals for the novels of mine that are set in the Haliverse, my quirky reimagining of H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos that redefines the tentacled horrors and their cultists as the good guys. Here's the latest bundle -- the complete Haliverse series, all seven novels of The Weird of Hali, plus The Shoggoth Concerto, The Nyogtha Variations, A Voyage to Hyperborea, and The Seal of Yueh Lao, all for a single deeply discounted price -- S149.99 for the trade paperback editions or $39.99 for the ebook editions. If you feel like hiding from a world that's become considerably more crazed than anything H.P. Lovecraft ever dreamed of, and would rather curl up on the couch and spend your time with shoggoths, Deep Ones, and Great Cthulhu himself, well, here's the eldritch, rugose resource of your dreams!Interested? Mesmerized? Ready to join the Esoteric Order of Dagon, sprout tentacles, and start chanting "Iâ! Iâ! Cthulhu fhtagn!"? You can order your copies here.

Date: 2020-08-15 12:19 am (UTC)I just finished "The Seal of Yueh Lao." I know you are done with the series but I would like to think one day you might suddenly have an idea or an urge and write more.
I do have a question. Is it intentionally ironic that Sennie is a worshiper of Phauz and also has a kyrrmi companion?

But congratulations John. I think you can milk this for a couple more books I think you should go for it.

Re: You know I'm almost tempted
Date: 2020-08-15 03:25 pm (UTC)As a piece of unsolicited advice, you might want to do a brief skim of L.E. Modesitt's "Recluce" series for how magic is done. One of the problems with magic is most books is that it makes no sense whatsoever. I really think that "fictional" magic has to be grounded in plausibility for the fiction to work. I really feel that Modesitt has done a solid (B+ to A-) job of making the acts of magic believable.
As an aside, I am finally prepared to accept the idea that humans can perform "magic". Now comes the hard part. Deciding whether or not such a thing is a good idea.

Is this offer good for only a set amount of time? I couldn't find any info on that at the Founders website. I just didn't want to wait, only to later discover that the offer had ended.

I was wondering if you still have any plans to write a novel length story set during the decline of Atlantis?

Date: 2020-08-15 11:54 pm (UTC)Last Four Bundle?
Date: 2020-08-15 10:26 pm (UTC)Do you know if Shaun is going to put together a bundle of The Shoggoth Concerto, The Nyogtha Variations, A Voyage to Hyperborea, and The Seal of Yueh Lao? I have the original seven books of the series and am piecing them out for full enjoyment (just started the fifth) but I haven't yet picked up the above four. I would be happy to hold off to grab them all in a special bundle if there's a plan for that in the future.
Also, add me to those very excited for the hefty magic trilogy!
