Another Mundane Astrology Update

I've just added a $10 a month tier to both my Patreon and SubscribeStar accounts, and sweetened it with the first of a series of detailed essays on the December 2020 conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn -- a Grand Mutation, in the language of astrology, marking the end of an Earth cycle that's been in process since 1842 and the beginning of an Air cycle that will last until 2219. Yes, I'll be posting on this for my blog readers, and the essays I'm posting will eventually become a book on the subject, which will be published well before 2219...but in the meantime, I figure they'll make a good benefit for readers who are supporting my astrology habit. ;-)

Again, I want to thank everyone who's helped make this project such a success! As already noted, having regular pledged support makes it possible for me to devote more time to astrological studies -- but it also means that I can afford to put time more generally into the less commercial end of my writing, and begin considering some projects that I've wanted to do for a long time, but won't necessarily help pay the rent. Your support is deeply appreciated. 

***Update to the Update:*** The Libra ingress chart and analysis for Japan has been posted to both accounts. (Patreon patrons have already gotten a private message, but SubscribeStar doesn't allow me to send a bulk mailing to everybody, so I figure this is the place.) I'm working on Britain now; that's going to be a complex one -- the Aries ingress is still in effect, so the Libra chart has to take that earlier chart into account, and there's an absurd number of aspects made by the Libra chart to the Aries chart -- 7 of the 9 planets making 16 separate aspects. It's going to be entertaining. Wish me luck!

I know it might be on the bottom of the list but I'll vouch for Mexico for the next countries in line. As for the question you asked me on MM. I haven't read Patanjali and just ordered a copy, appreciate your recommendation. By the way I think I saw somewhere in your journal that you would start working on some sort of system involving Hatha Yoga and were requesting for help for people to test try it. I would gladly help if needed since I'll start an intensive hatha program soon.

I'll put Mexico on the list; it'll be interesting to see how its chart differs from that of the US and Canada.

The comment on the journal wasn't about a system that includes hatha yoga, but rather a system that people can do while they're practicing hatha yoga -- some versions of Western occultism conflict with certain kinds of yoga. I'll keep everyone posted as things proceed.

"The 1425 chart had Venus exalted in Pisces and trine Neptune"

This seems interesting to me, since Neptune hadn't been discovered in 1425, so I wouldn't have thought the aspect with Neptune would matter. Why did it matter, if the planet didn't have impact prior to discovery? What am I missing?

That's a valid point, and one that I'll be researching as we proceed. It's interesting, though, that Venus in the sign ruled by Neptune, and trine Neptune, appears in a chart for a period in which religious art was so prominent and culturally important over so much of the world.

Your prediction of political centralization was somewhat unexpected - how does that square with the Long Descent and the loss of power of the governments of the world in the long run?

It surprised me, too, but that's very clearly what the chart says. The most important rule in mundane astrology is to pay attention to the chart rather than to your own opinions! One of the greatest flops in astrological history, astrologer C.E.O. Carter's prediction in the spring of 1939 that there would certainly not be a war in Europe that year, happened because he forgot that rule. (The 1939 Aries ingress charts for Britain and France are full of loud warning signs that events would spin out of the control of the politicians and lead to war, but Carter didn't want to see that and so he made a world-class fool of himself.)

Where can I find the most useful and actual list of countries and corresponding zodiacal signs? Thanks!

The ones I've found are in Raphael's Mundane Astrology and H.S. Green's Political Astrology, and they're long out of date. (For example, they give Circassia as a country ruled by Aquarius; Circassia hasn't existed as a country for centuries. Some of the same territory is now called Abkhazia and South Ossetia, which is why I included them in the list in the 2020 Grand Mutation post.) Figuring out an updated and more accurate list of countries is, or ought to be, high on the list of tasks for modern mundane astrologers.

And just out of curiosity, have you considered using kickstarter or other crowdfunding platforms to raise funds for any of your projects?

I'll be necessarily vague, and mention simply that they have to do with aspects of occultism and occult philosophy that aren't popular these days, but will probably be popular again in a couple of centuries.

I've glanced at funding platforms, but I don't need lump sums of money, I need a steady income to cover rent, utilities, food, et al. The patronage/subscription services are tailor made for that, and mesh well with the lump-sum income I get from my writing.

Is it a nuisance to subscribe for a month here and there?
I can't afford regular subscription at the moment, but would like to donate something anyway, and I'm interested in the content, especially the Great Conjunction.
I know it is a problem for some Patreon creators that people make one-off subscriptions, look at all the content and unsubscribe again. That is no good for building a steady income.
If it's acceptable to do this, it possible to attach a note when subscribing to explain that a subscription is not going to be every month, so it doesn't get factored in for your household bills in a few months time?
