Open (More or Less) Post on Covid 108
Aug. 29th, 2023 02:29 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)

So it's time for another open post. The rules are the same as before:
1. If you plan on parroting the party line of the medical industry and its paid shills, please go away. This is a place for people to talk openly, honestly, and freely about their concerns that the party line in question is dangerously flawed and that actions being pushed by the medical industry et al. are causing injury and death. It is not a place for you to dismiss those concerns. Anyone who wants to hear the official story and the arguments in favor of it can find those on hundreds of thousands of websites.
2. If you plan on insisting that the current situation is the result of a deliberate plot by some villainous group of people or other, please go away. There are tens of thousands of websites currently rehashing various conspiracy theories about the Covid-19 outbreak and the vaccines. This is not one of them. What we're exploring is the likelihood that what's going on is the product of the same arrogance, incompetence, and corruption that the medical industry and its tame politicians have displayed so abundantly in recent decades. That possibility deserves a space of its own for discussion, and that's what we're doing here.
3. If you plan on using rent-a-troll derailing or disruption tactics, please go away. I'm quite familiar with the standard tactics used by troll farms to disrupt online forums, and am ready, willing, and able -- and in fact quite eager -- to ban people permanently for engaging in them here. Oh, and I also lurk on other Covid-19 vaccine skeptic blogs, so I'm likely to notice when the same posts are showing up on more than one venue.
4. If you don't believe in treating people with common courtesy, please go away. I have, and enforce, a strict courtesy policy on my blogs and online forums, and this is no exception. The sort of schoolyard bullying that takes place on so many other internet forums will get you deleted and banned here. Also, please don't drag in current quarrels about sex, race, religions, etc. No, I don't care if you disagree with that: my journal, my rules.
With that said, the floor is open for discussion.

Funny story, though: She's a Boomer and considers herself a rebel. She talked about singing 1960s protest songs in her yoga class when Russia invaded Ukraine.

As I read that article today, the light came on in my mind. It occurred to me just why it is that the virus narrative is so intractable, why it is that those who support it give that thousand-mile stare whenever someone tries to reason with them about it. The essence of it, like propaganda in all its forms, is that it is not meant to be either factual or fictional - so reasoning the accuracy or error of it is totally pointless. What it is meant to be is a stimulus to elicit a desired response from the general population, in the same way that ringing a bell got Mr. Pavlov's dogs drooling. If governments really are trying to manage countries on a stimulus-response basis, they've gotten more out of touch - and out of control - than we ever imagined.
And also explains why Mr. Trump is so hated by one faction and so loved by another: his efforts were directed at actually solving practical problems in feasible ways rather than simply herding the people like they were cattle. And though they tinkled and tinkled and tinkled at that bell, he never once drooled...

Date: 2023-08-29 10:06 pm (UTC)For those of us here in Canada and the 'blue' US, I would expect something like this might unfold:
1. The fear factor will be much stronger, with a designated evildoer (perhaps Putin or Xi?) and a more proximate scapegoat (Um… perhaps we’ll do?). Pangolins won’t cut it this time. Too cute. The narrative framing will have to be at the 'Ebola Meets Bioweapon' level to get much uptake at all.
2. Direct social media and communications control will hit harder and faster, with many accounts cancelled and sites 404 on day one. Domain delistings that impact both web and email are a good possibility. Indirect narrative control will be more subtle and insidious, with AI-enabled interception and modification of messaging, classic COINTELPRO-style 'lets-you-and-him-fight' provocations, and many other new and improved gaslighting techniques all widely deployed.
3. Emergency powers will be initiated as soon as the requisite provocation is arranged. Impressively rights-free mandates, fines, debanking, lawfare, and coercive nudging will be preplanned and ready to roll, targeted at both pre-identified and emergent resistant elements.
4. When the time is ripe, after some delays and setbacks to build dramatic tension, a new xRNA technology will miraculously be made available to the grateful population. (I expect the delivery system may be aerosolized/inhaled this time, to encourage higher compliance and demonstrate the benefits of 'progress').
5. If the timing and conditions are right, we can expect 'Operation Who’s Your Daddy' to sweep the Designated Saviour into office in the US. (If the timing and conditions are not auspicious… well… “we can hardly hold elections under these exceptional and unprecedented circumstances, now can we?”)
Of course things may not unfold at this level of intensity – the above is what I would expect from a well-coordinated, national intelligence-community managed campaign. If instead it is just an effort by grifters and select bureaucrats to relive their Covid 1.0 glory days, the push will be much less sweeping, and will probably fizzle out rapidly.
Also, while the above sounds impressively draconian, the scenario is almost all limited to the digital and media realms. It will be way harder to enforce the desired mandates and restrictions in the offline world this time around, especially if enough of us are willing to push back. Real-world civic resistance is not at all futile, and if it is widespread enough can effectively stop a primarily digital and media effort in its tracks.
Given the above scenario of what 'they' might do, what might we do?
Here are some things I plan to do differently:
- I will take a public stance. Covid 1.0 was a largely private matter for my wife and I, retreating into our home, garden and personal life until the madness ebbed. There were impacts on our lives, but we yielded ground to them in an organized retreat. I don’t believe that retreat is going to be a viable option this time: I will push back from the start in the ways that seem true and right to me.
- I will expect to be cut off from communications and resources. The information and resources I have on hand, and what may still be gleaned directly in the real world, will have to suffice. I will prepare to be coerced, fined and de-banked, and will do what I can to make us resilient to these pressures, including cash on hand, pre-payment of debts, and other sensible household-level preparations.
- I will observe and chronicle. Journalling and doing writing and research on an air-gapped (non-Internet connected) computer and on paper, stored in multiple formats and offline locations. I’m no Victor Klemperer – and hope I never have to be – but I can and will put words in a row to document the madness next time.
What about you? Is there something that you might do differently next time, that you are comfortable sharing on this public forum? (And that is in keeping with our host’s well-considered posting policies, of course!)
Re: The Liars Next Time
Date: 2023-08-30 02:20 am (UTC)This is a great post, I truly enjoyed reading it. Personally I'm very happy to hear that you are for standing up and for more civic engagement. And I thank you (and our host) for this invitation to order some of my thoughts, if they may be of interest to others here.
Real world civic resistance is important, and can be very powerful. Standing at the street corner with a sign. Getting voters to the polls on election day. Lobbying legislators. Showing up at the city council meeting and waiting 3 hours for 3 minutes to speek to Agenda Item 349. Running for office. Running for the school board. It's a long list of possibilities. And I believe that each person, according to their own talents and opportunities and preferences, can do something uniquely influential in the civic sphere. It's not one-size-fits all when it comes to civic engagement, and resistance.
For myself, I basically coped with the covidian nuttiness of 2020-2021 by waiting it out, walking my dogs, coming here often, and publishing a Substack blog under a pen name. Last year, under my real name, I started looking for and joining health freedom activist organizations. I also started writing to many of my elected officials, urging them to address various issues related to medical freedom. So that was a start.
I've been impressed with the work of many medical freedom organizations that have sprung up to focus on legislation, ordnances, and local elections. (Lawsuits are also vital, but not my personal area of interest or expertise. Let me just here insert mega kudos for Bobbie Anne Cox, the attorney who's been fighting NY State Governor Hochul over the quarantine camps (and Hichul's shredding the Bill of Rights); Leslie Manookian, who got the masks off on airlines flying to and in the US; and a whole raft of people, including RFK, Jr., in the censorship case Missouri v. Biden).
So, in answer to your question, one thing I would do very differently from 2020-2022 is that I would -- as I am now-- becoming more engaged in local issues pertaining to respect for medical freedom, freedom of speech, and freedom in general.
I'd ike to see some more specific legislation to protect us against such incursions on our rights, I'd like to see a number of institutions defunded, and a number of individuals held accountable before the law for fraud and for negligent manslaughter.
I think it's vital to not waste energy on trivial battles, or on unwinnable battles, however attractive they may be. And of the battles that are both important and winnable, there, too, I must choose wisely. To attempt to fight every battle is a strategy for ultimate defeat. What I want are definitive wins, and that I, personally, come out of them stronger, so that I can fight another day. Which are those battles for me? Well, that's for me to do my best to guess when the time comes. I'll take my own decisions about that. Not everyone will like that. So be it.
I can see that many people in the freedom movement have very different ideas and perceptions about a number of issues. Many assume that everyone agrees with them, or should agree with them about everything. And a few, alas, are as hard-headed in their theology as the covidians.
One lesson I learned many years ago-- and it was a painful one-- is that just because someone shares my enthusiasms about a certain thing-- however welcome and delightful and oh-what-a-relief that may be!-- doesn't mean they are fit to have my confidence or to be my friend. So my strategy as I get into more civic engagement is to be friendly, but not too quick to give confidences nor to form new friendships, and to keep my focus trained on these specific issues: again, for me, medical freedom, freedom of speech, freedom in general.
In addition, these activist groups are likely to be seeded with government agents, some of whom are looking to provoke and entrap people. So it is extremely important to avoid anyone who starts suggesting, or even just fantasizing about violence of any kind. It could be an agent provocateur or just an indignant innocent-- whatever, I'm staying far away from that.
To me, as I see it, for civic engagement, my best allies and mentors are going to people who are steady, have some experience, and show a clear focus on their goals and the means to achieve them. Not the jumpy look-at-me hot heads.
My power animal is the desert tortoise.

Ecosophia Prayer List
Date: 2023-08-29 10:57 pm (UTC)If I missed anybody, or if you would like to add a prayer request for yourself or anyone who has given you consent (or for whom a relevant person holds power of consent) to the list, please feel free to leave a comment below.
This week I would like to bring special attention to the following prayer requests.
•May Brother Kornhoer's son sleep apnea and empty nose syndrome both be healed, to allow him to get restorative sleep. UPDATE: Today, Tuesday 8/29, Brother Kornhoer's son is getting surgery to help to deal with the condition. May the surgery go excellently, and may he heal quickly.
Neptunesdolphin's husband has just had his big toe partially amputated due to a staph infection, and his diabetes has worsened in connection. He and she and son all are struggling to cope with the difficult situation, made no easier by the fact that all three have different varieties of mental impairment. May Neptunesdolphin's husband heal quickly and vigorously, and successfully manage his diabetes; and may her family all get through the situation successfully and with grace.
Lunar Apprentice, who has started a private medical practice, that he find the strength and the capability to successfully fulfill his self-appointed duties both to his patients and to his family, that the insurers contracting with his patients be favourably disposed towards the service he faithfully provides and pay as they are obliged, and that the flow of new patients increase sufficiently to support his medical practice.
Steve T's brother Matt is currently in the hospital after a sudden violent seizure, and his daughter is having extreme panic attacks; they were both in a terrible car accident last fall. Steve asks for prayers for Matt's recovery of health; for the emotional and psychological well-being of the rest of the family, including his wife Megan, his daughter Diana, and his young son Jake; and for the lifting of any spiritual harm afflicting the family.
Freddy, Ganeshling's neighbor's 10 year old son, hasn't spoken since a traumatic hospital stay a few years ago; for Freddy to start speaking again and to help him develop into a functional adult.
Tamanous's friend's brother David got in a terrible motorcycle accident and has been diagnosed as a quadriplegic given the resultant spinal damage; for healing and the positive outcomes of upcoming surgeries and rehabilitation, specifically towards him being able to walk and live a normal life once more.
Lp9's hometown, East Palestine, Ohio, for the safety and welfare of their people, animals and all living beings in and around East Palestine, and to improve the natural environment there to the benefit of all. The reasonable possibility exists that this is an environmental disaster on par with the worst America has ever seen. (Lp9 gives updates here and also here.)
Guidelines for how long prayer requests stay on the list, how to word requests, how to be added to the weekly email list, how to improve the chances of your prayer being answered, and several other common questions and issues, are now to be found at the Ecosophia Prayer List FAQ.
If there are any among you who might wish to join me in a bit of astrological timing, I pray each week for the health of all those with health problems on the list on the astrological hour of the Sun on Sundays, bearing in mind the Sun's rulerships of heart, brain, and vital energies. If this appeals to you, I invite you to join me.

Date: 2023-08-30 01:02 am (UTC)Last time I could claim ignorance and sort of go along with the mandates. Not only that, but there was always a way around things – my job meant I got to go out with full justification (essential worker, and while I get the issues behind the label I called it a form of liberty), I could remove my mask when no one else was in the van with me, and I could negotiate the shots to a degree (first two I felt were necessary, once Omicron proved milder and a prophylactic against other variants I was happy to refuse boosters).
Now…where I work has changed. Presently I'm directly employed by a hospital system complete with benefits and a decent wage for the first time since I worked for UPS over two decades ago. It's nice, but I can see both a return to masking AND a requirement for the latest mRNA stuff.
In short, consequences will be real if doo-doo happens.
I can always do the "Mask only around clients" thing, but if new mRNA stuff becomes required it may be Quitting Time. And yes I'll quit, but with a bit of sadness as the moment I get something along the lines of what my Father got from General Motors things turn around and make keeping it a humiliating experience.
If that's how things end up going…So Be It. At least I can take it this time.

Date: 2023-08-30 06:57 pm (UTC)I've posted here more than once that I went to a fancy private school and selective liberal arts college, where I say in classes rubbing elbows with future doctors, including some who went on to attend the most prestigious medical schools in the country. And yes indeedy, one of their defining characteristics was conformity. Medical training, like training for all high-status, well-paying, ostensibly-meritocratic professions, is set up to select for rule-followers. Or, as author William Deresiewicz described people selected for by the system, "hoop-jumpers and teacher-pleasers."
Mainstream medicine is not totally useless, and I don't eschew it completely. But I always remember when I'm interacting with the medical system that, even if the people I'm dealing with are neither malicious nor stupid, they are conformists - because if there weren't, they wouldn't be there. They may have some useful skills and knowledge, but they are also by definition the kind of people who believe what they're told and don't ask the wrong questions. And I take that into consideration and proceed accordingly.

Date: 2023-08-30 11:51 am (UTC)In my spare time, I use to write technical analisys on the local Peak Oil fringes.
Some years ago, I began to see a pattern of behaviour and mainpulation linked to Climate Change, Peak Oil, and many others, that prevented me during the Covid histeria, that applied tha same patter in full force.
Since I had been following TAD since 2012, then JMG, few months ago I started my own blog (usually I publish to a well known Peak Oil blog run by a well known spanish scientific, Dr. Turiel), where I write more on other issues than only technics and how they will made things worse).
My last entry, one week ago, was about this same mechanics, but restricted to the psichology point of view (my wife is psicologist), although I hint to other mechanisms there.
https://beamspot.substack.com/p/highway-to-hell
It is written in spanish, though, but automated translation may do a good job.
To explain the tools and psichological mechanism, I used how Covid was used as The Cause, as a mean to an end (totalitarianism).
I think the title (in english even the text is in spanish) says it all: Highway to Hell.
And I can see exactly the same pattern being imposed onto us on many issues, although we (wife and me) think that this time around Covid will not do the trick, it may even backlash (and I think our politicians are aware of this).
Anyway, current political news regarding soccer (Football Woman's World Cup) shows us how devious is our PMC, and the desafection they are generating with all this fuss (and many lies that had been hidden).
Support for politics, of any kind, is fast waning, as well as for renwables (there are few companies, including a big one, filing for bankrupcy).
More Covid cultism will made things worse over here.
So another Cause du jour will be in order, just I don't know exatly what.
Best regards and thanks for this great forum and your comments. This is a really mental health paradise.

Freedom Pledge
Date: 2023-08-30 06:43 pm (UTC)Before my Creator, my family, and my community, I declare:
• I will rise up, speak up and disobey harmful and tyrannical orders, whether they come from a domestic or foreign entity.
• I will stand in my power and authority and reclaim my innate rights and what has been unlawfully and immorally taken from me, my family and my community.
• I will resist any attempt, by government or otherwise, to divide people or communities from each other, or to subjugate any people to discrimination or harassment based on ethnicity, faith, bodily autonomy, or freedom of choice.
• If the enemies of freedom come for anyone’s children, my neighbors, my community, or my nation, I will resist.
• I will not surrender my rights, nor those of my children and community.
Of course, it is wise for most of our time and energy be spent on creating solutions to our perilous predicament; just the same, sometimes one must drop the knitting for winter wear when malevolent forces are using a battering ram against one's castle gate!
Freedom! Liberté! Justice!
