The Modern Order of Essenes: The Healer Attunement

This Saturday I will be providing attunements for the Healer Grade of the Modern Order of Essenes. What we need to settle at this point is what time or times I will be doing my side of the ceremony. I've already fielded one request for a noon attunement, and that's certainly an option -- but that's about the earliest I'll be available for this. I can do one or two other sessions later in the day, with midnight the latest that will work for me. (All these times are Eastern Standard Time, btw.)

So my question to those of you who have been doing the Essene work is this -- what's a good time for you? It'll require around thirty minutes of your time.

Update:  the time has been settled. There will be two sessions, one at 12:00 noon Eastern time, one at 6:00 pm Eastern time, both on March 4th -- yes, that means tomorrow. See you there!

The instructions for the attunement are as follows:

Instructions for the Healer Attunement

To receive attunement as an Essene Healer, you will need to have learned and practiced all the Candidate, Apprentice, and Healer lessons, and to have received the Apprentice attunement

You will also need to choose some name of the Divine to invoke in your attunement. This may be a personal or an impersonal name.  If you have a relationship with a deity, you may choose to use the name of that deity. If not, you may use an impersonal term such as “the Divine” or “the Universe” in the relevant place.

If you have a religious or spiritual name distinct from your ordinary name, you may use this in the ritual, and there is a specific place for you to reference this in the attunement. If you intend to use your ordinary name, say your full name instead.

Approximately ten minutes before the attunement:

Dress comfortably, leaving the top of your head uncovered.  Sit in a comfortable position, with room for a person to stand behind as well as in front of you. Activate your palm centers as you have already learned to do.  Then enter into meditation, using whatever method you have practiced.

At the time of the attunement:

Become aware of the initiator standing behind you. Hear the following questions being asked, and give the answers out loud.

            Question:          What is your intention?

            Answer:            To become the Healing Heart of (name of the Divine)

            Question:          By what name do you wish to be initiated?

            Answer:            (States religious or spiritual name, magical motto, or ordinary name)

The initiator then says:

            (Name) become now the Healing Heart of (name of the Divine). 

The initiator traces a secret sign on the crown of your head, and then says:

            (Name) receive now the Breath of (name of the Divine) to activate your Healing Heart. 

The initiator breathes on the crown of your head, and traces four more secret signs, then says:

            This will help you establish the Pillar of Love to support your Healing Heart. 

The initiator moves around you to stand in front of you and says:

            In the name of (name of the Divine), I proclaim you Healer (Name).

This completes the attunement.

After the attunement:

Remain in meditation for a few more minutes to allow the attunement process to complete itself. For the weeks that follow, it is helpful to keep track of any new experiences you may have and to write down any unusual dreams you may recall.

The best time for me would be between 2:30 pm and 4:00 pm EST, but I could do 12:00 EST without too much trouble. Alternatively, I could make sometime after 8:00 pm EST work, but that's definitely less preferred for me.

Attunement Times

I live in the Canary Islands but I am a night owl. Therefore anytime, once specified, from twelve noon EST until 5 a.m. Sunday EST works for me.

This is off topic, but, as it pertains to healing, it might be of some importance to someone. John please delete this part of my response if inappropriate. I went for a vision test. My vision had dropped to 5% in one eye, not so noticeable because the other eye has 20/20 vision. The eye doctor recommended cataract removal. I was reluctant but agreed to try it. I had the surgery Tuesday. Within 2 hours after the surgery to the left eye it was more or less equal to the right eye. More or less twenty/twenty. They haven’t tested that specifically. But the world is so much much brighter. It is wonderful to see with both eyes. The doctor said I would need glasses to read but I do not. I can see distances, missing colors have returned. I feel younger, because the last time I could see this way I was younger.

This is not an advertisement. I do not know how others will respond to such surgery. I expect the feeling of being younger and the world being brighter may subside somewhat as it becomes normal. But I am very very happy with the unexpected result.

Yes -- the Apprentice attunement, and then at least a month or so of work with the teachings.

I misunderstood that the Attunement needed to be done in order like initiation levels. I‘be studied and done the practices up to the Healer level but it sounds like I need to wait for the next Apprentice Attunement because I didn’t do that one.

You can do the practices all you like, even without the attunements -- those greatly strengthen your capacities for spiritual healing, but everybody can heal. (In John's language, we are all part of the Divine, and the healing energy of the Divine flows through us all.) In a little while I'll post something asking how many people there are who are interested in Apprentice attunement, and we'll proceed from there as my schedule permits.

Delighted to hear it! I could sense at least some of you -- I gather that more than one of you were feeling pretty nervous before the attunement.

You're right on target, at least with me. For some reason i was a bit nervous before the attunement,wich didn't happened to me at the apprentice attunement, but the ceremony felt very strong, and i feel it all went well.

During the attunement, i almost forgot to name myself, and for a moment it felt as if you we're reminding it to me!

Well, I was rehearsing my lines up to the wire as if I were a first time understudy...so that would fit here too :-). Then when I felt a distinct softening in the heart area near the end of the ceremony I relaxed a bit.
