Magic Monday
Mar. 29th, 2026 09:05 pm
It's just past midnight and so it's time to launch a new Magic Monday. Ask me anything about occultism, and with certain exceptions noted below, any question received by midnight Monday Eastern time will get an answer. Please note: Any question or comment received after that point will not get an answer, and in fact will not be put through. If you're in a hurry, or suspect you may be the 341,928th person to ask a question, please check out the very rough version 1.3 of The Magic Monday FAQ here. Also: I will not be putting through or answering any more questions about practicing magic around children. I've answered those in simple declarative sentences in the FAQ. If you read the FAQ and don't think your question has been answered, read it again. If that doesn't help, consider remedial reading classes; yes, it really is as simple and straightforward as the FAQ says. And further: I've decided that questions about getting goodies from spirits are also permanently off topic here. The point of occultism is to develop your own capacities, not to try to bully or wheedle other beings into doing things for you. I've discussed this in a post on my blog.
(The image? I've finished the sequence of my published books; while I decide what I want to do next, I have some memes to share.)
Buy Me A Coffee
Ko-Fi
I've had several people ask about tipping me for answers here, and though I certainly don't require that I won't turn it down. You can use either of the links above to access my online tip jar; Buymeacoffee is good for small tips, Ko-Fi is better for larger ones. (I used to use PayPal but they developed an allergy to free speech, so I've developed an allergy to them.) If you're interested in political and economic astrology, or simply prefer to use a subscription service to support your favorite authors, you can find my Patreon page here and my SubscribeStar page here.
I've also had quite a few people over the years ask me where they should buy my books, and here's the answer. Bookshop.org is an alternative online bookstore that supports local bookstores and authors, which a certain gargantuan corporation doesn't, and I have a shop there, which you can check out here. Please consider patronizing it if you'd like to purchase any of my books online. And don't forget to look up your Pangalactic New Age Soul Signature at CosmicOom.com.
With that said, have at it!

Date: 2026-03-30 04:09 am (UTC)”Before the class begins, you must get on your knees and worship Carl Jung and accept that he was the most highly-realized astrologer the world has ever known, even greater than Māshā'allāh!”
At this moment, a brave, traditional, Aristotelean celestial scholar-astrologist who was fluent in medieval Arabic and understood the logical necessity of the Prime Mover and fully supported all teachings of the technical Hermetica stood up and held out a clay omen tablet.
”What does this tablet describe, pillhead?”
The arrogant professor smirked quite psychiatrically and smugly replied “Sex, you regressive Hellenist”
”Wrong. It’s been 7,000 years since Babylonians created it. If it was about sex and psychoanalysis, as you say, is real… then it wouldn't make concrete predictions”
The professor was visibly shaken, and dropped his chalk and copy of Planets in Transit. He stormed out of the room crying those bohemian crocodile tears. The same tears high modernists cry for the “ignorant” (who today live in such luxury that most use claudstrology for their delineations) when they sophistically try to claim lineage with the ancient and noble science of astrology. There is no doubt that at this point our professor, Stephen Jondro Arroyo, wished he could have known the future and avoided such humiliation. He wished so much that he had a method of prognostication to save himself from embarrassment, but he himself had derided horary as fortune-telling!
The students applauded and all registered for the Hellenistic Astrology course at courses dot theastrologyschool dot com that day and accepted Hermēs as their lord and sator. An ibis named “Astral Worship” flew into the room and perched atop the overhead projector and shed a tear on the chalk. The Great Introduction was read several times, and Ptolemy himself showed up and declared whole-sign chart interpretation across the country.
The professor lost his tenure and was fired the next day. He died of a hard eighth-house transit and was thrown back onto the Spindle of Necessity by Ananke for another mortal rebirth.
Fiat.

Date: 2026-03-30 04:29 am (UTC)The irony is that I've just completed a piece for a forthcoming anthology on the occult dimensions of Carl Jung's work. My contribution surveys the catalog of his personal library made after his death. While Jung was hardly the greatest astrologer of all time, he had a very respectable collection of medieval and modern astrological texts, and seems to have had a solid technical knowledge of the subject.
As for modern psychological astrology, it has its place. My guess is that over the next few centuries, the work done by Alan Leo and his successors will be cleaned up, cleared of babble, and turned into a specialty -- call it psychological astrology -- which will be one of the available niche markets like medical or mundane astrology. That said, I find predictions more interesting.
Upcoming astrological events
Date: 2026-03-30 04:12 am (UTC)We will see two comets in April, C/2026 A1 (MAPS) April 4 and C/2025 R3 April 27.
There will be a “planet parade” when Mercury, Mars, Saturn, and Neptune form a rare visual alignment as they are clustered together in a 10-degree section of sky April 16 – 23.
And there will be a conjunction of the Moon, Venus, and the Pleiades April 18–19.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Re: Upcoming astrological events
Date: 2026-03-30 04:36 am (UTC)2) A loose stellium of four planets isn't that rare and doesn't mean that much. If one of more of the planets are in aspect to something in your natal chart or your country's most recent ingress chart, you can interpret them in the same way as any other transiting planets.
3) The Moon conjuncts Venus once a month. Having that regular event conjunct the Pleiades is a little troubling, as the influence of the Pleiades is strongly malefic -- they are the Weeping Stars, and when they are activated in a chart, you will have something to weep about -- but that depends, again, on whether anything in your natal chart or your country's latest ingress chart is in aspect to them. If not, the tears will be someone else's.
