The material below on the theory of healing should be read repeatedly, thought through, and frequently reviewed. You will find that it explains much of what Essenes do in their healing work.
Essene Healer Lesson 1
The Law Of Contagion
The mere selection of some definite aim, with determination to realize it, starts the operation of hidden activities that provide us with the necessary materials, and puts us in contact with those persons whom we need to meet in order to attain our goal. Understanding the nature of intention is necessary to understand the Law of Contagion upon which much of our spiritual healing depends.
Please read and re-read this lesson several times until the five laws discussed in this lesson become a part of you. Knowing and understanding them, and using them with wisdom is the primary responsibility of the Essene Healer. Please do not proceed with your other lessons until you master this first and primary lesson.
Concerning Contagion
Unconditional Love is Contagious. (Spirit)
So are hatefulness and apathy. Whatever expression of love we share with other people in our lives, the more they’ll express that same emotion to others in their life. Whatever expression of love we share with groups of people, the more they’ll express than same to others. We can express the emotion of love, hatefulness and apathy with our spoken and written words, our overt and hidden actions and expressions, and with the thoughts in our mind and heart.
Friendly and Hostile Attitudes are Contagious. (Air)
Our attitude is expressed in our written and spoken words, the way we speak and write and the way we act. Friendly and nurturing attitudes draw others of the same demeanor to us. They also change the attitudes of others around us in a positive manner. The same can be said for negative or hostile attitudes.
Positive and Negative Feelings are Contagious. (Water)
Whatever emotions we choose to convey, others will know what is truly in our hearts and reflect it back to us. They also emulate that emotion in their lives to some extent for good or ill. Whatever we feel does affect the feelings of others.
Constructive and Destructive Intentions are Contagious. (Fire)
The intentions of all living things becomes apparent to those who have eyes to see and ears to hear. They can also be determined by those who have hearts to feel and minds to evaluate. We see and hear things on many planes and our intentions are expressed on all of them. Others will be affected for good by our constructive intentions and for ill by our destructive ones. It doesn’t matter if the other person agrees with us or not, our intention is contagious and it will affect them.
Good and Bad Health, Poverty and Abundance are all Contagious. (Earth)
If we enjoy good health, we encourage others to improve their health. If we experience abundance in our lives and share it with others, we inspire them to seek abundance in their lives. The opposite is also true. Our love, attitudes, feelings, intentions and quality of our lives are all contagious and we can affect others by them.
Concerning Decisions
The Two Negative and Positive Decisions of the Ancients:
1. Apathy and Hatred toward others - Unconditional love (Spirit)
We decide whom to love, whom to hate and whom to be apathetic toward. This is a decision we make and it’s a decision we can change. Where we find we are expressing hatred and apathy, we can choose to express love. We can do this in steps by first accepting, then forgiving and finally loving the other person.
2. Hurtful thoughts and attitudes - Helpful thoughts and attitudes (Air)
We decide to have helpful, neutral or hurtful thoughts and ideas toward others. We also decide what attitude we’ll have toward and about them. We make these decisions all the time. Most of the time we make them subconsciously based on previous experience with those people or with other people under similar circumstances.
In other words, we didn’t even know we made a decision.
But we can change our thinking and attitude. It’s all a matter of identifying the presence of hurtful or harmful thoughts, ideas and attitudes, and making a decision to be helpful and supportive. It’s a decision we can make.
Concerning Emotions
The Three Negative and Positive Emotions of the Ancients:
1. Sadness - Happiness (Water)
We can make a decision to be happy or sad. We can change our emotional state by imagining we are happy when we’re really sad. We can also decide to have a happy attitude in spite of our sorrow. By changing our thinking and our attitude we can influence our emotions. By imagining our sadness turning into happiness, we can change our emotions. Believe you are happy and you will become happy.
At the root of every sadness, some happiness can be found. If we can’t find this happiness, we can imagine that we find it. By concentrating on these moments of real or imagined happiness, we can raise the vibration of our sadness into a state of happiness. It all starts with a decision and then finding the love within us to lift our sadness so we become happy.
2. Anger - Peace (Fire)
The same thing can be said for anger. We can find peace by changing our thinking, ideas or attitude about our anger. We can find peace by imagining that our anger is fading away and being replaced by peace. We can become peaceful and dissipate our anger. Believe you are filled with peace and you will be filled with peace.
We can also laugh at our anger. Laughter lifts up our vibration and we find it more and more difficult to be angry. So we let our anger go and we return to our natural state of peacefulness. Believe you are filled with courage and you will become courageous.
3. Fear - Courage (Earth)
Again, the same thing can be said of our fear. We can find courage within ourselves by changing our thoughts and ideas or our attitude. We can imagine our fear abating while our courage increases in intensity. We can also laugh at our fear and it will fade away, because laughter raises our vibration and gives us courage. Believe your fears are fading and they will fade. Believe your courage is increasing and it will.
Fear and courage are both influenced by the same things as anger, peace, sorrow and happiness. These things are our thoughts, ideas, attitude, beliefs and imaginings. Change any of these and we change our sorrow, fear and anger into happiness, courage and peace.
THE LAW OF CREATION
The Law of Creation says the Divine created us and all that exists. Then the Divine gave us the free will, power and ability to create our own lives according to our own desires. We are the result of our own creative efforts. To change who and what we are requires us to first change our intentions, beliefs and behavior.
THE LAW OF INTENTION
The Law of Intention (the Divine Father) is everything. It controls our:
1. Belief Systems (the Divine Mother)
2. Expression of Love (Spirit Above = Daughter of the Divine Father)
3. Expression of Power (Spirit Below = Son of the Divine Mother)
4. Receptive Mind (Spirit Within)
5. Intuition and Desires (Fire)
6. Intellect and Attitudes (Air)
7. Emotional Response and Emotions (Water)
8. Health and Wellness (Earth)
The Law of Intention is that whatever we intend to accomplish we will accomplish if our intention is resolute, our belief in ourselves and our intention is strong, and we do what needs to be done to manifest our intention.
We can do nothing unless we intend to do it on some level of our being. We cannot do anything we do not intend to do on some level of our being. We can only do what we consciously, subconsciously or unconsciously intend to do with conviction.
THE LAW OF BELIEF
The Law of Intention is the first law because without an intention nothing is ever created, nothing ever happens. But once we have an intention we set in motion the creative process, which will not end until we change our intention. Provided we believe we can do what we intend. The second law is the Law of Belief (the Divine Mother).
The Law of Belief says that whatever we believe to be true will be true in our lives regardless of whether or not that belief is a conscious, subconscious or unconscious belief.
THE LAW OF BEHAVIOR
The Law of Behavior says we behave in a manner consistent with our intentions and our beliefs. We must change our intentions and our beliefs in order for any change to manifest in our lives. No matter what we want to manifest, we must change our intentions, beliefs and behavior in order for us to make it manifest in our lives.
THE LAW OF HEALING
The Law of healing says we can heal ourselves if that is our true intention and belief and if we change our behavior to manifest that healing in our lives. As co-creators with the Divine we have this ability if we truly want to heal ourselves. Nobody else can heal us, but we can heal ourselves.
CONCLUSION
The Laws of Creation, Intention, Belief, Behavior, Contagion and Healing are incontrovertible in that they always operate whether we want them to or not. These Divine Laws operate in our lives all the time. We can use them but we cannot change them. They always operate exactly the way they were created to operate. All we can change is our own intentions, beliefs, behavior and healing.
We create what we create because of these laws. If we want to change what we have created, all we need to do is change our intentions, beliefs and behavior. This change is always in cooperation with the Divine Laws of Creation, Intention, Belief, Contagion and Behavior whether for good or for ill.

Consent and the Divine
Date: 2023-01-19 11:35 pm (UTC)A) the notion expressed in both the main MOE teachings and in follow-up comments that the Divine gives what is needful, does not give more than or other than that which an individual can handle; and
B) the implication of this post-attunement lesson, "Your hands will start to activate on their own without any conscious effort on your part and this is a sign you need to send somebody or something healing energy."
Are inwardly perceived signs of consent ok, by your metric? Are there pros and cons to the as-written perspective? Isit possible to do harm by proceeding thusly?
Thanks!

Date: 2023-01-20 02:30 pm (UTC)This is such a great quote I'm writing it down in my commonbook.
Perhaps you've answered this question already, but will you be doing long distance attunements again at other times? I hope to do this work, but I can't add much more to my schedule at this time, so it will have to wait. I could possibly start this while going through the Occult Philosophy Workbook this year, but I had also thought of reviewing the Hamner material. -then there is also the Order of Spiritual Alchemy, which I did the first series of but did not submit for an exam to go further. I also feel that will be beneficial. I have a tendency to get scattered. I've reined it in some, but I have to constantly remind myself that I probably have less time to do multiple things than I think.
Yet this has been on my mind, as I contemplate healing and being of service to others. There have been a lot of people in my life whom I've been called to help in some way. I'm not trying to toot my horn about this, as I often find it inconvenient and at odds with my own will, and get frustrated by it. Other times I do embrace it when I'm in acceptance mode, and it's not like its just me helping them. I've gotten a lot out of these relationships, but sometimes it does feel like in the Sacred Geometry Oracle, the Vesica Piscis reversed...the pattern is like this:
People with various mental illnesses or are somewhere on the spectrum in some way, but haven't been able to integrate as well as others, seem drawn to me like a magnet. Some are family. My late uncle was schizophrenic and I did a lot for him (and he also for me, for that matter). My cousin has Spina Bifida and I've been one of his closest friends, as well as family -he's been in hospital since October and had 9 surgeries due to pressure sores and some serious related infections. He really needs company, so I've been visiting him once a week, but that slows me down in my occult and writing work, since I also have a full-time job and marriage. Another friend is an aspie and his girlfriend is schizophrenic. He needs help with certain things -he used to work for my wife when she owned her own business, and we have a lot of interests in common, but I'm the one they can rely on when they need some extra help. And I was just tapped to help them move. He has little family and not many willing friends. When I became a ham I became friends with a man whose wife is in a nursing home with MS -and he is an orphan with no family, really. What he often needs is friendship, or help of some other kind. My wife's best friends father is a widower and his two children (her friends) passed away with a genetic inherited peraplegia, and we often have to do things for him now that he is in his 80s. There are other examples that have come in and out of my life. I was looking through a palmistry book and saw that there were "help lines" below the pinky. I have a ton of these lines. Knowing that, it is helping me accept this pattern.
That pattern combined with some of the Gilbert material I've read (where he talks about in the Gnostic stuff about the various (problematic) people in our lives) and some of what I've gleaned from the Occult Philosophy Workbook does seem to indicate this is part of what I'm here for in this incarnation. Anyway, it occurred to me, with regards to all this, the Modern Order of Essenes material might help me to help others (and myself) but I'm sometimes hardly at all sure which thing to work on, and what I can work on that will fit in with the GSF work I've already committed to -and which does fit with my life rather well, even if I've been slower at it than I'd like because of these connections and commitments.
Thanks for reading, and the opportunity to share on your blogs. Do you think doing the MOE material would be useful for helping out on a spiritual level in these kind of situations if my help is asked for (as prayers, etc. often have been asked of me)? Do you think the MOE material would be okay to do in conjunction while working on the Occult Philosophy Book for my meditations, etc. over the next year. I'm almost done with the GSF finally, just trying to get the Squaring of the Circle exercise done correctly.
Thanks again John.

Date: 2023-01-21 08:03 pm (UTC)In any case divination was a good idea, and I got a positive response from my query.
One of the benefits I see in MOE and the Hamner material, and the OSA that I've been so far exposed to is doing my part to stay on the sunny side of life, which I think includes cleaning up my side of the street too. I'd like to stay sunnier- and these teachings point a lot towards that, and this MOE stuff also towards helping, blessing, healing others too.
So far in my life I've gotten to do a lot of the things I've liked and wanted to do. I guess I'm ambitious as there is more I'd like to accomplish, and it would seem, others to help along the way.
If these practices can be good for me, and others who i may use them for, for the greater good, then its all a win win.
Peace,

Date: 2023-01-21 03:58 am (UTC)My husband’s recent hospital stay of well over a week left his already edema-prone feet practically turned into cold, swollen clay bricks. After three days of Essence reflexology, three times a day, they look and act like feet again. He’s very impressed, as am I.
Thanks again for making this material and attunement available. TSW!

Date: 2023-01-21 02:55 pm (UTC)On a somewhat lighter note I finally met an amazing partner in the midst of the madness and as a Teacher, she was heavily coerced to take the shot but not skeptical really until we started dating. We have both noticed the insanity abound and find ourselves creeping backwards from it. It’s been interesting to be partnered with Someone who went along with it but now sees the light so to speak. Early in our relationship I begged her not to get the boosters and that sort of shook her out of it (that and the experience of having a chest cold for two months)
I went into our relationship wondering how I could break it to her that I’m basically persona non grata with regards to the Nazis in Drag leftist malaise we have been surrounded in until I went and met her parents in Indiana and realized why she fell in love with me. Her family is salt of the earth, “hippie conservative”. Dad was a farmer and still a mechanic. Her whole family got cut off some years ago when she started becoming radically inclined toward the socialist totalitarian gloop glop, but I’ve definitely been helping to melt that glass prison away from her heart and soul with heavy doses of my farmer perspective. My family is super working class left leaning and it’s been a free fall for me since 2016 into my current political perspective which was heavily informed here reading JMG since 2011. 🙏
Can’t thank everyone enough for clearing me away from the insanity, especially JMG- I would probably be vax injured today if I had not been totally absorbed into JMG work/community all these years.

Date: 2023-01-21 04:32 pm (UTC)Key in a lock?
Date: 2023-01-21 06:08 pm (UTC)Thought about posting this on the latest Essene blog but did not want to sow confusion...
In practising the activation of the hands:
Once the blue water triangle on left hand and red fire triangle on right hand have been initiated, do you know if anyone has experimented with the anjali mudra where the placement of the hands would create the potential for a star tetrahedron enclosed in a sphere generated from green/earth and yellow/air?
I ask because when I did the hand placement as described in the Essene material (Left hand fingers pointed forward, right hand fingers pointing up and healing jewel points connected) and I was visualising the earth and heavens triangles, the idea came to rotate the left hand so fingers point up which places hands in prayer/anjali mudra kind of position almost seemed like turning a key in a lock (i.e. there felt like a tendency for the now downward earth triangle and upward heaven crossing triangles to want to start rotating from the 2D flat design to 3D star tetrahedron).
It almost seemed that at that point the telluric and solar currents 'tuned' into a blend/accessed something that was more than the sum of the parts!
The sequence I followed was to:
1. Draw the triangles and circles with tails on each hand,
2. Then sit with palms facing upwards about 18" apart and visualise/feel/connect each triangle simultaneously.
3. Bring the hands into position as described in the material (left fingers point fwd, right fingers point up, jewel points touching).
4. Rotate the left hand so fingers point up (like in prayer position)
Conversely, to close off, rotation of the left hand 90 degrees to original position with fingers pointing forward followed with a sweeping of the hands (rather than a clap) seemed to function as 'locking the door' [so to speak].
Would you consider a further closure/grounding of drawing energy to the lower (navel) cauldron?
This Essene stuff is fascinating - thank you for publishing it.
Best regards,

Re: Key in a lock?
Date: 2023-01-22 10:52 am (UTC)Haha - I got slightly ahead of myself with enthusiasm there in referring to tetrahedrons - that came later.
When I first rotated the left hand - the 'turning of the key' was the blue left hand triangle seeming to come into alignment with the red right hand triangle, like clicking into place, with the initial feeling of them wanting to turn being a movement in the 'space' between my palms.
So it was initially like the two triangles rotating about a central axis that ran between upward and downward points - and it was then that the image of the green and yellow circles rotating and forming a sphere around the triangles - almost like a mini Sphere of Protection in the handspace.
It was only when I sat with some wooden blocks of platonic solids (tetrahedron and octahedron) thinking about what 3D shapes that the two 2d interlocking equilateral triangles might make that the tetrahedron idea popped up.
In the end I decided maybe I was trying to overthink it and should just practice and observe and follow developments.
Too soon to say whether something or nothing...
One other thing - the circles with the tails - after the triangles were aligned and started rotating, and the image of green and yellow circles formed a flowing sphere [water drop not bubble] - the tails could have a very practical application!
Or maybe I have an over-active imagination and should get outside and chop some more wood! Maybe both ;)

Re: Key in a lock?
Date: 2023-01-22 03:59 pm (UTC)That has me wondering if that is part of the explanation - that not only activating is required but that orientation brings polarities into play... or something like that... The hints you have included in the texts are most tantalisng.

Date: 2023-01-22 07:12 pm (UTC)On the blessing walk
Date: 2023-01-22 04:03 pm (UTC)Now - I am not saying the Essene stuff risks that as it clearly recommends some form of sphere of protection kind of thing as well as closing things off when finished.
Has anyone else had thoughts on the idea of offering blessings willy-nilly?
With the last three yrs weirdness, a pattern I caught myself dropping into was seeing people out alone (outside or in a vehicle) wearing a mask of some description and my response began as 'what are you thinking?!' and many less polite variations thereof.
Anyway, it started bugging me that I was creating a mental rut that could be progressive, so decided I needed an alternative track.
Given the practices I was doing at the time, with the masked this manifested first as 'fair enough you need to do what you need to do'. There was no requirement for me to have an emotional response.
Then tried applying it to people doing really dodgy driving and changed from a string of invective to a more observational stance where the thought process began as "They are doing what they are doing and I get to choose how I respond to that."
My first reaction to someone nearly forcing me off the road was not to bless them, but, over time my reaction to things like that has changed - things have moved from invective, thru neutrality to something different. It began with substituting a reaction by instead asking a question:
"What am I not seeing here?"
And then that morphed into "In everything there is the divine" and then onto "We are each aspects of the divine" and "If I don't like you and we are each part of the divine, doesn't that mean I do not like myself?"
So, I'm not at the stage of radiating love to all the bipeds [the birds and other critters and plants and trees are another matter :) ], but have got around that by using a different approach - to respect that the divine is in everything and feel gratitude for that.
As an old martial artist, it fascinates me that recognising this divine in all people, would not be deleterious to a robust response if needed - more it is like offering respect to the individual and gratitude to the divine.
So, I am not offering blessings but am trying to pay attention in a way that acknowledges their existence through respect and recognition that we are all part of the dance by gratitude to the divine.
Working with the creatures and living plants and even seemingly inanimates is currently easier than offering blessings to every biped.
My guess is that probably reflects more about me than it does about the humans!

Re: On the blessing walk
Date: 2023-01-22 07:11 pm (UTC)I recall some very profound Zen literature from medieval Japan in which the point is made that it's entirely possible, and indeed spiritually necessary, to be able to direct love and compassion toward someone while you're struggling with them in a duel to the death. That's one of the things that's included in the concept of unconditional love, or for that matter in the Christian precept to love your enemies -- it doesn't make them not your enemies, it means you recognize that they are also children of the Divine, spiritual beings in the midst of the give and take of life, and the hard necessity that pits you against them doesn't change that.
It's a challenging concept to grasp, since it flies in the face of our usual assumptions, but it's worth contemplating.
unconditional love
Date: 2023-01-23 10:55 am (UTC)Fascinating - for me personally, the concept of unconditional love is an enormous and nebulous idea that is difficult to pin down; I can manage respect and gratitude well enough, but perhaps being on the fringe of what was called the new age movement some 40 yrs ago has coloured my views on people professing unconditional love - I'll meditate on that! ;). I get the concept all right but have seen the application much less.
Back in the 80's in Glastonbury there was a couple who were trying to drum up business at one of those body, mind, spirit festivals so popular at the time; their aim was to go around and try and get people to attend their workshops or whatever it was they were doing, and the method was for her to say something like:
"Look at his beautiful face and decide which of you is most attracted to his loving heart energy"
It was clear that even though the words 'unconditional love' used to spill from their mouths like soda from a fountain, what they were actually selling was much, much further away from unconditional love than the deposits collected by keen gardeners from the rear end of a horse. In fact, the words were just a mask hiding a completely different thing.
I am not saying that is the case with the Essene stuff but it occurred to me that the subject area and use of language is one of those times when the New Thought risks come to the surface; where a good idea can go sour if I do not pay attention. For me dealing with humans (which does not happen that much these days) I do not yet have mastery of myself and offering unconditional love could end up being a conceit. i.e that I go around giving blessings but what I am actually doing is patting myself on the back and taking pleasure in the idea of what I am doing rather than what is being done or needs to be done.
One of the main places I see people is the supermarket and I have been practicing with the people on the checkouts - when they hand me change/receipt I look at them and say "thank you" - for real not just as a throw-away - a heartfelt 'thank you'. I have noticed that people are starting to react in a different way - almost like they are surprised to be acknowledged.
Of course I can get away with a small smile and looking into their eyes because I am a bloke in this cultural setting, no doubt the dynamic would be different for a woman and perhaps different again in another culture.
That Zen literature you refer to sounds very much worth a read, by any chance do you have a link to an English translation or title to look for?
Thank you for your considered answers to my questions - reading people's thoughts and ideas on your blogs is most helpful.
You run a tight ship sir!
