Open (More or Less) Post on Covid 66
Nov. 8th, 2022 01:46 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)

So it's time for another open post. The rules are the same as before:
1. If you plan on parroting the party line of the medical industry and its paid shills, please go away. This is a place for people to talk openly, honestly, and freely about their concerns that the party line in question is dangerously flawed and that actions being pushed by the medical industry et al. are causing injury and death. It is not a place for you to dismiss those concerns. Anyone who wants to hear the official story and the arguments in favor of it can find those on hundreds of thousands of websites.
2. If you plan on insisting that the current situation is the result of a deliberate plot by some villainous group of people or other, please go away. There are tens of thousands of websites currently rehashing various conspiracy theories about the Covid-19 outbreak and the vaccines. This is not one of them. What we're exploring is the likelihood that what's going on is the product of the same arrogance, incompetence, and corruption that the medical industry and its tame politicians have displayed so abundantly in recent decades. That possibility deserves a space of its own for discussion, and that's what we're doing here.
3. If you plan on using rent-a-troll derailing or disruption tactics, please go away. I'm quite familiar with the standard tactics used by troll farms to disrupt online forums, and am ready, willing, and able -- and in fact quite eager -- to ban people permanently for engaging in them here. Oh, and I also lurk on other Covid-19 vaccine skeptic blogs, so I'm likely to notice when the same posts are showing up on more than one venue.
4. If you don't believe in treating people with common courtesy, please go away. I have, and enforce, a strict courtesy policy on my blogs and online forums, and this is no exception. The sort of schoolyard bullying that takes place on so many other internet forums will get you deleted and banned here. Also, please don't drag in current quarrels about sex, race, religious, etc. No, I don't care if you disagree with that: my journal, my rules.
With that said, the floor is open for discussion.

Date: 2022-11-12 05:01 pm (UTC)I would also and very especially suggest her interview by RFK Jr:
https://live.childrenshealthdefense.org/chd-tv/shows/the-defender-show/moderna-clinical-trials-terribly-flawed--fda-knew-it--sasha-latypova-tells-rfk-jr/
This one is worth listening to more than once.
And I can also recommend Tessa Lena's interview with Latypova. Lena of course is an artist and less knowledgable about the nitty-gritty of vaccine research and approval issues than is RFK Jr, however it's a really special interview. At the end Lena and Latypova, both having been raised in the Soviet Union, talk about the parallels they recognize.

The Peter McCullough interview you mention is also excellent, I second your recommendation.

Date: 2022-11-12 05:09 pm (UTC)I used to be on Twitter, an avid user for a while, found it too addictive (it's addictive by design of course) and not good for my brain, so I gave it up I forget when. It's been some years. I do not miss Twitter.
Elon, well, he's very good at the various games he plays, one of them being attracting cruiseship-loads of attention.

"And I would say that the UK as a whole, and while many questions need to be answered about our covid response, is by no means the worst offender. We're not Canada or New Zealand or China, places where they think they can exterminate covid by depriving the population of the most basic civil liberties. But we still do have I'm afraid much to ask, questions to ask ourselves and even much to be ashamed of."

Date: 2022-11-12 05:30 pm (UTC)I don't know about demons per se but I have always thought there is more going on on a nonphysical level, with nonhuman consciousnesses, than most people would ever be willing to even consider. And a huge problem with that is that, generally speaking, and with many exceptions of course, in their human bodies we are not equipped to perceive much on the nonphysical level. Those who do perceive things, when they try talking about it usually find it's fastrack to getting mercilessly ridiculed, if not interned in the nut house.
Re: breaking the binary
Date: 2022-11-12 05:42 pm (UTC)I don't think I would *define* wisdom that way, but certainly taking emotional charge out of memories/history is one of the *keys* to wisdom.
This might help to explain why our modern historical memory of the Nazi phenomenon - which largely reduces to an emotionally-charged "fascism bad!" - seems more likely to facilitate than to prevent a recurrence as both sides project the "fascist" label onto their enemies.
For me, personally, the covid years have helped to break down these faultlines. Previously, I was largely on "team blue" and (especially during the GW Bush years) viewed "team red" as rather frightening and alien. Seeing the blue team double down on irrational belief and the red team stand up for personal freedom in this case has effectively balanced the scales - where now I see the whole political landscape as filled with good ideas and bad ideas tangled up together in an oddly tribal, divided world.
If I may seem optimistic about our chances to avoid civil war, it is because my own desire to fight on either of the sides that may arise from a red-blue divide has - over the last three years - dropped to zero.
I suspect that the general working-class shift from blue to red that has occurred over the past 20 years might represent a similar awakening and softening of charge for others, who are now voting red but who are really waiting for a real populist uprising. Any other realignments that occur as people become disenchanted with some position of their "tribe" will help with this, even as others find themselves more polarized.
With the exception, perhaps, of the regions where the original Civil War was fought, my sense is that the USA is largely lacking the sorts of ancient and deep-seated cultural, ethnic, and religious hatreds that can be rekindled into open warfare - which I see as a reason for hope that we might make it through the next decades without major violence.

Apology to Hearthspirit
Date: 2022-11-12 05:53 pm (UTC)i was floating after St Catherine Alexandria got the strong/vulnerable thing but then i saw your response and so yesterday was a mix because i'd done wrong by you and wanted to really think out a proper non-defensive response:
i'm sorry that i missed your earlier reply regarding beyonce. i've been having a harder time keeping up with replies now that i don't always sign my name and have to scroll, and then i give up and start a new thread (like here and now). so from now on when we're actually going back and forth, i shall use my name or one of them, so i can do a proper search and not miss a reply and add to the impersonal nature of this medium.
i will take more care to be more thoughtful and not selfish about what's easy. i must work harder to defy the sloppiness and yes, cruel impersonality of this medium. so call me out if and when i slack or pinch.
i did not know any of that about beyonce and i'm ashamed for spouting off about things i know nothing about. i didn't mean to undermine your respect and enjoyment of another artist. i do apologize. it was wrong and caustic of me.
i won't stop being wrong and caustic as a general thing, but about THIS, i will take care to not be dismissive again. you also, like St Catherine Alexandria, give a lot so much of yourself to this place and the others, and didn't deserve that.
especially when you'd bothered to answer me TWICE.
so thanks for not blowing ME off and going back in. i'm duly ashamed and i bow my head to you in apology in that i will honestly strive to be more thoughtful with you. i recognize you and your beautiful power and don't want to ding it and add to the violences and scars of regular people in life today.
this is long, but i've been thinking long and hard about what a shmuck i was. i didn't know beyonce's THAT serious about her thang and i dig that in anyone.
so i'm sorry and will keep my name around or one that's searchable, and work to not ever blow you off again. so if i DO, call me out. you let me be the bitch i am so i've gotta protect the sweetest parts of you and me here. i know like Philly Girl above, you GET what i intend.
xxxxxxx
thank you

ah...Philly Girl, YES.

Date: 2022-11-12 06:21 pm (UTC)My vague sense, for what it's worth, is that what happened is a lot of people got caught up in the covid hysteria. They lived in fear, got mad at people who didn't live in fear, practiced bizarre irrational cootie rituals, didn't see friends and family, let their kids be cheated out of normal youth, wore damp disgusting rags on their faces for hours at a time, believed the people in charge, did as they were told, and...got covid anyway. And survived. As did all the crazy unjabbed people who also got covid and didn't die either. And now, lots of people are dying of unexplained causes.
It's almost like they were all lied to....
I think CJ Hopkins analogy of a hung-over morning-after applies. People are a kind of shell shocked. And may also realize on some level that they got tricked. And were complicit in the insanity. And that our institutions aren't as trustworthy as they would like to believe. And that their whole world view might be inaccurate.
But who wants to think about that??
I think a lot of people are shoving realizations down, to avoid having to think about what happened, what they believed, what they might have said or done, how the world doesn't work quite the way they thought it did, and - no. Never mind. Don't want to think about it.
Let's all act normal. Everything is fine. Let's call for amnesty, forgive all that was said and done, go back to normal, and forget all about this. Everything is FINE.
To me the weird affect is related to denial. People went through a bizarre and emotionally harrowing couple of years, and have had world views shaken, and now, a lot of them just don't want to think about it. It's too hard to face. This is simultaneously the affect of the abused spouse insisting that her black eye is the result of a fall, and the abuser insisting that he never hit nobody, and let's all just forget about this.
That's not everyone's reaction, of course, but I see a lot of people like that. That's where that 1,000 yard "it never happened let's not talk about it nice weather we're having" stare comes from.

Date: 2022-11-12 06:26 pm (UTC)To say nothing of the fact that with QR codes, they are tracking who uses which public restrooms and how often. Use them "too often" and might you be accused of using drugs or other unapproved reasons to be alone in a small space?

So, while Im all for offline alternatives, there are good twitter alternatives already out there.
