Tim VenturaAnd another podcast -- and for a change, it's on the other side of my work. This time I'm with futurist Tim Ventura, talking about catabolic collapse. It's a good crisp conversation, not least because Tim's got a solid business background -- that's his logo to the left -- and so understands that collapse is ultimately an economic process; we were able to get into some of the nuts and bolts of the process by which civilizations fall. Check it out here on YouTube.

Thanks for this! Excellent discussion and summary of the points you’ve made over these past many years.

Hi, I would like to point out, that it probably isn’t a “god crisp conversation” but a good crisp conversation.

I'm curious to know which parts of Africa you think might be in the ascendant?

I enjoyed the last one and this one was packed even if shorter. Usually politics stress me but I am actually enjoying this because you've given us a different outlook I can do something about. I haven't explored much the other side of your work but it is very interesting seeing it unfold as it is happening.

After a brief browsing of Tim Ventura's obsessions about space & time I found myself rolling my eyes in disgust or at least boredom. 'Yet another wannabe...' I thought. But as I have a tendency to oversimplify and jump to conclusions, I paused (magic et al.) and force myself to at least be willing to admit the possibility that this guy is willing to get at the truth.

And then the thought dawned on me that maybe he knows something that I don't. Oh what a terrible thought that is!

Great interview in this new forum, I hope it brings you new outlets and aids those who need it most.

While enjoying that good and crisp conversation, my eyes spied an image of you in the suggested viewing that YouTube offers on the side (all to hook us into more viewing)
The title with your face from part of that video meant I couldn't resist watching this 15-minute video

Electric Cars and Happy Motoring https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRL7VStgKhk

Where John Michael Greer, Dmitry Orlov, Chris Martenson, Frank Morris, Kevin Lynn and James Howard, answer a question about the transition from fossil fuels to a transportation infrastructure built around solar power from suburban rooftops and autonomous electric cars.

Such a cherry on top of the treat to see actual video of you.

I remember that one, it was the second one I saw and recall liking the term "technocornucopians".

You know what is really funny? If you divide the total world reserves of lithium (14 million tons: 14000000000kg) by 63kg, which is the amount in a Tesla battery, the result is 222222222.22222...222.

Besides the nudge to stuckness and binaries it is barely enough for one sixth of the motor vehicles in circulation today. The batteries of Teslas last about 20-37 years, it seems that is the amount of time in the future it takes for hope to turn into mass delusion.
