Fludd diagramIt's getting on for midnight, so we can proceed with a new Magic Monday. Ask me anything about occultism and I'll do my best to answer it. Any question received by midnight Monday Eastern time will get an answer. (Any question received after then will not get an answer, and will likely just be deleted.) If you're in a hurry, or suspect you may be the 143,916th person to ask a question, please check out the very rough version 1.0 of The Magic Monday FAQ here

I've had several people ask about tipping me for answers here, and though I certainly don't require that I won't turn it down. You can use the button above to access my online tip jar. If you're interested in political and economic astrology, or simply prefer to use a subscription service to support your favorite authors, you can find my Patreon page here and my SubscribeStar page here.

Bookshop logoI've also had quite a few people over the years ask me where they should buy my books, and here's the answer. Bookshop.org is an alternative online bookstore that supports local bookstores and authors, which a certain other gargantuan corporation doesn't, and I now have a shop there, which you can check out here. Please consider patronizing it if you'd like to purchase any of my books online.

And don't forget to look up your Pangalactic New Age Soul Signature at CosmicOom.com.

With that said, have at it!

(Internet hiccup, apologies if this is a duplicate post.). I purchased a vintage suitcase at an antique mall, hoping to use it as storage under my bed. When I got it home, I discovered that it had a tone-on-tone swastika pattern lining. While I understand that the swastika is a very old symbol with lots of history before the Nazis got ahold of it, and that it’s possible my suitcase predates the 1930’s, I’m not happy having this symbol in my home. So I’m wondering what my options are, magically speaking. I could just throw it out of course, but I couldn’t be sure it wouldn’t reappear for me or someone else. I could tear out the lining, and burn it, but would the smoke be an offering to a malign entity I wouldn’t want to hear from? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I live in an apartment building with a lot of immigrants from India, and it's not unusual at all for a new resident to paint a swastika on the doorpost of his apartment. One fellow traced a rather large figure, maybe six inches square, on the carpet of the hallway in front of his door with what appeared to be rice flour. These usually disappear within a few days, probably because of the front office invoking the clause in our leases that says we can't have any signs on the outside of our doors; or else someone politely explains that we just don't DO that sort of thing here.

It would be nice if we could wrest this ancient holy symbol away from those who profane it, but I'm not sure that this could be done until well into the future, when the Nazis and their admirers are so far in the past that the average person would have no idea why they were such a big deal in their time.

Respectfully, whether or not this suitcase is from the Nazi era, it seems like a historical artifact in its own right. I would not destroy or damage it, whether it comes from the Nazis or some benign occultists that predate them. If you really don't want it in your home, I'd recommend selling it to a collector or seeing if a nearby museum might be interested in adding it to their collection.
