Alexandra David-Neel ...until February, that is.

It's a little shy of midnight, so here we go with a new Magic Monday. The picture is of Alexandra David-Neel, French occultist, Theosophist, Buddhist, professional opera singer, explorer, adventurer, and first-rate author, whose actual exploits make those of fictional characters like Indiana Jones look lame, and who almost made her 101st birthday. Ladies, if you want a role model, you could do worse.

Ask me anything about occultism and I'll do my best to answer it. Any question received by midnight Monday Eastern time will get an answer. If you're in a hurry, or suspect you may be the 143,916th person to ask a question, please check out the very rough version 1.0 of The Magic Monday FAQ here.

I've had several people ask about tipping me for answers here, and though I certainly don't require that I won't turn it down. You can use the button below to access my online tip jar. If you're interested in political and economic astrology, or simply prefer to use a subscription service to support your favorite authors, you can find my Patreon page here and my SubscribeStar page here.

With that said, have at it!

***This Magic Monday is now closed -- and yes, this means you. See you the first Monday in February!***

Thank you to Tripp and JMG!

So the basic takeaway is that I'm okay to do the SOP for a few years without having to do more intense work to protect myself etc - great.

Tripp - yes, Monsters was like my "gateway drug" after I originally read the Well of Galabes after moving over from ADR. Never really thought I'd be asking questions on something called "Magic Monday" a couple of years later! Or starting something called the "Sphere of Protection".

The getting into dreams part sounds very jarring...probably a good thing for me in some ways (but not others) that I can almost never remember dreams..

..and I haven't even started the SOP yet and am already cutting down my smartphone use. I want to go out without it more often but my wife gets very nervous if I'm not contactable in emergencies re kids etc (even in situations where it will make no practical difference - if I'm on an international trip and (god forbid) something happens to the kids, there is no practical benefit to letting me know immediately instead of when I get back to the hotel room - it's going to take me a day or two to get back anyway. But she gets nervous..

I have a clamshell (flip) phone. It makes phone calls. It will record brief phone messages. I can receive texts on it. It can take pictures, but since it isn't connected to the Internet, I can't send the pictures to anyone. It does not have to be charged up very often.

I keep it in my purse, not my person. I got it for road trouble and other emergencies. I don't use it much, and I don't give out the number to very many people.
