bullies, all of themWe are now in the fourth year of these open posts. When I first posted a tentative hypothesis on the course of the Covid phenomenon, I had no idea that discussion on the subject would still be necessary more than three years later, much less that it would turn into so lively, complex, and troubling a conversation. Still, here we are. Crude death rates and other measures of collapsing public health are anomalously high in many countries, but nobody in authority wants to talk about the inadequately tested experimental Covid injections that are the most likely cause; public health authorities government shills for the pharmaceutical industry are still trying to push through laws that will allow them to force vaccinations on anyone they want; public trust in science is collapsing; and the story continues to unfold.

So it's time for another open post. The rules are the same as before:

1. If you plan on parroting the party line of the medical industry and its paid shills, please go away. This is a place for people to talk openly, honestly, and freely about their concerns that the party line in question is dangerously flawed and that actions being pushed by the medical industry and its government enablers are causing injury and death on a massive scale. It is not a place for you to dismiss those concerns. Anyone who wants to hear the official story and the arguments in favor of it can find those on hundreds of thousands of websites.

2. If you plan on insisting that the current situation is the result of a deliberate plot by some villainous group of people or other, please go away. There are tens of thousands of websites currently rehashing various conspiracy theories about the Covid-19 outbreak and the vaccines. This is not one of them. What we're exploring is the likelihood that what's going on is the product of the same arrogance, incompetence, and corruption that the medical industry and its wholly owned politicians have displayed so abundantly in recent decades. That possibility deserves a space of its own for discussion, and that's what we're doing here.

3. If you plan on using rent-a-troll derailing or disruption tactics, please go away. I'm quite familiar with the standard tactics used by troll farms to disrupt online forums, and am ready, willing, and able -- and in fact quite eager -- to ban people permanently for engaging in them here. Oh, and I also lurk on other Covid-19 vaccine skeptic blogs, so I'm likely to notice when the same posts are showing up on more than one venue.

4. If you plan on making off topic comments, please go away. This is an open post for discussion of the Covid epidemic, the vaccines, drugs, policies, and other measures that supposedly treat it, and other topics directly relevant to those things. It is not a place for general discussion of unrelated topics. Nor is it a place to ask for medical advice; giving such advice, unless you're a licensed health care provider, legally counts as practicing medicine without a license and is a crime in the US. Don't even go there.

5. If you don't believe in treating people with common courtesy, please go away. I have, and enforce, a strict courtesy policy on my blogs and online forums, and this is no exception. The sort of schoolyard bullying that takes place on so many other internet forums will get you deleted and banned here. Also, please don't drag in current quarrels about sex, race, religions, etc. No, I don't care if you disagree with that: my journal, my rules.

6. Please don't just post bare links without explanation. A sentence or two telling readers what's on the other side of the link is a reasonable courtesy, and if you don't include it, your attempted post will be deleted.

Please also note that nothing posted here should be construed as medical advice, which neither I nor the commentariat (excepting those who are licensed medical providers) are qualified to give. Please take your medical questions to the licensed professional provider of your choice.

With that said, the floor is open for discussion.

Well I noticed this today:
The American Prospect: What Trump Could Learn From Hitler on NIH Funding

So this ticks off three major predictions of this forum:
- ADR: "this days being a satire writer is the hardest job in the world. The reality is weirder then the comedians"
- Wagner posts: "the way to bring intelligentsia in line is to cut funding"
- Ecosophia (main): "what you contemplate you imitate"

Yes indeed. And here's Jeff Childers' take on it from today's Coffee and Covid post entitled Heil Slurpy - https://www.coffeeandcovid.com/p/heil-slurpy-tuesday-february-11-2025

"The last thing the biomedical research community needs right now is a friend like The American Prospect tying NIH funding to Third Reich science policy. Talk about a PR nightmare."

On the subject of Meghan McCain

There is a platform called 2Way that Mark Halperin started. He recently added Meghan McCain to his lineup of commentators. I understand that both of these people are deep state hacks or wannabe deep state hacks who got cancelled and so have an axe to grind. But this week Meghan McCain got on at about 1 minute 15 seconds on this link and talked about how she will never forgive or forget what the Democrats and the govt. did over Covid. She particularly focuses on the vaccine mandate. So far, Youtube has not censored. Progress?

Anyone know of anything that could help make long Covid more bearable? I know pine needle tea is a possible resource. If conventional docs tell you they don't know they've done all they can, seems a drag. What is rumored (unsubstantiated of course) to be worth looking into? -Celadon

I think he would have done better arguing that the King in Orange should be a tea totaling vegetarian.

He only went on about the total dollars for pork barrel R&D, not what it was used for. I would be happy not to see a dime go to another operation warp speed or torturing beagles. Never mind that even for the useful grants it's about socializing the costs and privatizing the profits.

Think he's feeding at that same trough much?

Oooooo, you commented in "The Man With The Moustache" [https://www.ecosophia.net/the-man-with-the-moustache/] on the possibility that all the Nazi-haters could flip and turn into Nazis.

Does this mean it's starting?

What about Bird Flu N5N1, really?

Date: 2025-02-11 11:34 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
This Wikipedia article [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Influenza_A_virus_subtype_H5N1] talks about the particular variety of bird flu that is resulting in the decimation of poultry flocks and householders' wallets worldwide (thanks for the heads-up on Frugal Friday! No I don't eat that many eggs.)

This A/H5N1 currently cannot easily jump to humans, but according to the article, one mutation would enable it to go human-to-human. And, it's supposed to be pretty virulent, with currently a 50% death rate in humans (when transmitted to the human from birds).

Your thoughts?

- Are the 50% who die of it the older, preexisting-condition, more vulnerable humans?
- If one were to catch this bird flu, what would be some good things one can eat/drink/take/do to get you through it? (For example, there's the assertion I've heard that zinc hinders the reproduction of viruses, thus would be good versus a Coronavirus infection)

Thanks, and thank you JMG for hosting this forum!

Flu

Date: 2025-02-11 11:37 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
A coworker, who was out sick for most of last week told me yesterday that she and her family of four all had the flu. It knocked them all flat for the better part of the week. She was grateful they'd all had the flu shot, because she heard it would have been even worse if they hadn't had it. This same sickness has been passed around work. I don't know the flu shot status of the rest of my coworkers, but if I were to base it on their politics, I'd guess they are all flu shot fans. Somehow, despite not getting the flu shot, I have avoided catching what they're passing around. I better hope I don't get it, because if her science is right, I'll be even sicker than she was.

This, of course, isn't medical advice. You may find this long covid protocol from the Independent Medical Alliance (formerly FLCCC) of interest.

Covid and medical advice

From: (Anonymous)
As our host mentioned one often has to preface any sort of commentary on medicine with an awkward legal disclaimer to prevent the AMA from coning after them. How did the AMA get this absurdly powerful? I know vaguely that the shift happened over the course of the first half of the 20th century, but are there any books or essays detailing what happened? As I understand it there used to be a lot more options for healthcare than the grim, largely ineffectual system we have now.

Cheers,
JZ

In my experience you're better off getting the flu. That flu shot left me sick for 2 months instead of the two weeks flu usually runs. They can take their vaccines and put them where the sun doesn't shine.

It's hard to go wrong with Vitamin D. My doctor suggested 2000 I.U. per day, and I can't recall having a serious illnes in years. ("Vitamin D suppresses unpleasant memories"? ;-) ) It's very inexpensive, safe (in moderate quantities, of course), and most adults are measurably deficient (especially those tested in the hospital). See Dr. John Campbell (UK) on YouTube for more info. (He does not sell it, BTW.)

In case you feel like a deep dive into vaccines, A Midwestern Doctor wrote a piece entitled "What are the Pros and Cons of Each Type of Vaccine?" - https://www.midwesterndoctor.com/p/what-are-the-pros-and-cons-of-each

Yes, part of it is behind their paywall.

The FLCCC has been rebranded to the Independent Medical Alliance. They have lots of great information about all kinds of things, including the use of repurposed drugs to treat cancer. For your purposes, however, I'd try this resource they produced while it was still FLCCC. Very informative.

I was introduced to “Yes” via their song “Roundabout”, which I first heard from season 1 and 2 of “Jojo’s bizarre adventure” where it was used as the outro at the end of each episode.

Oh, man, what a blast from the past. Sometimes I don't know which I loved the most about albums in the '70s -- the music or the cover art. What a fine time to grow up absorbing all those amazingly stunning visual images.
