Fellowship of the Hermetic Rose Temple Forming

A small group of students here in southern New England (Providence-Attleboro area) are in the process of organizing a temple of the Fellowship of the Hermetic Rose, and is open to new members. Please note that this is not a club for spectators; anyone who wants to become involved should expect to be doing daily practices in either the FHR, Golden Section Fellowship, Modern Order of Essenes, or Dolmen Arch/Druid Magic Handbook systems. The current core membership consists of experienced Freemasons, and a location for ritual work has already been arranged, so it shouldn't be long before the temple is up and running.

Does one have to actually be in that area to join?

No, but you have to be willing and able to travel here for monthly meetings. This is not an online thing.

How does one go about starting such a temple or home church or similar? Is it 'just' a matter of finding a location and then putting out a call for members in a similar way to what you've done here?

To found a temple of the FHR, you need to have completed at least the 5° grade, the grade of Teacher -- once you've done that you have all the knowledge you need to do the work. Then you put out a call for other members. The same thing is true for the other traditions I teach -- you have to achieve a certain proficiency before you can get a group going, so you know the things you need to know in order to make the rituals mean something.

So, tell me if I understand correctly... The rituals done together as a group will be FHR rituals, but individually one may regularly practice any of the above mentioned systems (and no FHR work at all) and still be a part of the temple?

That's correct. All the systems named include enough of the basics to qualify as an equivalent of the Seeker grade. If you want to go beyond that first grade of initiation, you'll have to do the relevant FHR practices, but those are quite easy to sub into any of the systems just named.

John Gilbert was very flexible about this sort of thing -- as long as you were doing the same broad class of daily practices, he was good with it.

GSF "Forthcoming" books

I'm abusing the post for something only vaguely related, so feel free to ignore, or personal message me at my dreamwidth account, but do you have a rough idea of when the forthcoming books will be, well, forthcoming?

I like to buy them from the publisher, because they give a deal on bundling the physical book plus the e-book, but they aren't the cheapest with shipping. So if the next book in the series (Secret Temple, I guess, since you seem to be alternating "Way of" and "Workbook" titles) is in the next few months, I may hold off on Earth Mysteries until I can order both together. If not, I have a reminder to check regularly to see when I can order Earth Mysteries as a bundle, and will do so.

The Way of the Secret Temple should be out next spring sometime. I'm less certain of The Life Force Workbook, for the simple reason that I'm still writing it!
