Doors of TarotMy British publisher Aeon Books contacted me to let me know that one of the books of John Gilbert's writings I edited, The Doors of Tarot, has been shortlisted for one of the International Cartomancy Awards sponsored by TABI, the Tarot Association of the British Isles. These awards have a two-stage process -- committees pick the ten best products in each category, and then there's a public vote for the winner. Voting is now open to the public...

...and will be open until June 30. If you enjoyed this book, the publisher and I would both count it as a personal favor if you could take a few minutes to vote for it. Thank you!

I tried to go to vote but they want you to sign-in with your goooogle account which I refuse to have. Got rid of it years ago when things got apparent.

Good timing, since I decided to look more into Tarot recently, needed a guide, and figured anything with yours and Gilbert's fingerprints on it would probably be very solid. :) I did indeed enjoy the book and left a vote now. Also a good reminder I need to get going on that work to assign keywords to my deck.

While we're on the subject, at first I found it frustrating how the descriptions of the Geomantic characters in the CGD seemed so sparse. After reading Gilbert's book, though, it struck me that the way they're all so tied to a single keyword might be a strength instead.

Voted! Had to do a little research since they make you vote in every category and I haven't heard of most of the decks or creators. I got an interesting overview of what's getting published nowadays, anyway.

Hiya JMG,

Tried to vote, but the form insists that I vote for something in every category, which I can't do, as I have no experience with anything except the book in question. If I can figure out a way around this will definitely vote for the book.

Good luck!

I just tossed a coin or went with what sounded good for the other categories.
But I voted.

Voted, though as some others have noted, my votes in other categories might have been a bit of an impromptu form of divination, as they didn't make it easy to learn about the products listed (even the thumbnails were too tiny to give much of an impression!)

Yup. That's the approach I considered, so will do that too.

The most useful book on the tarot, and on divination in general, that I've ever read. Voted!
