Sacred Geometry Oracle, version 2!

There's a bit of a backstory here. Frank contacted me a while ago, asking a little tentatively if I minded that he'd made his own version of the deck. I let him know that I was thrilled that he'd put that kind of work into the system, and after looking at the images, asked him if he'd considered making it available for sale. A little genial three-way negotiation involving me, Frank, and the publisher settled the details, and it's now available from GameCrafters, an online print-on-demand firm that does card decks and games.
So there you have it! The new deck can be used for all the same purposes as the old one, and is entirely suitable for the work of the Golden Section Fellowship. If you're interested, you can order a copy here.
Thanks!

Happy to answer any questions about the deck if folks have them.

Date: 2024-03-06 10:27 pm (UTC)I had an idea somewhat similar to this, but haven't gotten around to making it a reality. This is very cool! Just got mine on order.
I don't have any questions yet, but that may change once I get it in hand.

Bert

Date: 2024-03-07 07:47 am (UTC)That looks great! Congrats for getting it done and published! :-)
Would you mind saying a few words about your choice of backside graphics (the one with the minuses and pluses)? I.e. what made you choose this particular graphics over others as the most fitting or the most representative or … for the SGO? I‘d very much love to read your thoughts about this.
Thanks,

I took me a bit of a struggle to settle on the back but I wanted to be intuitive more than analytical and not get too bogged down. I also didn't want to just use the GSF outer emblem identically to the other deck.
I had done this plus/minus design and drawn it in my journal as a result of finding it in meditation. I think it clicked for me in this role because in learning to divine with this deck I've struggled a bit with reversals. I don't use reversed cards in my tarot readings and while getting used to them I had a tendency to view them as "bad" when they showed.
For me, this design helps to remind me of the inherent polarity of every card and to remember that the positive and negative are two sides to each coin so to speak. Sort of like my take on a yin/yang.
Anyway, hope this isn't too wordy but that sort of where I was at with the back design. I also thought it looks kind of cool.

And yep, it does look cool. :-)

The red was just something that came in visually because I thought it read well and I went with it.
The small symbols in the corner reflect each card's correspondence to one of the three principles and one of the seven gates as discussed in The Way of the Golden Section book. Understanding those better was the main reason I started making this deck.

Did you say, "print on demand"?
Date: 2024-03-08 03:02 am (UTC)Does finding a POD printer who does card decks perhaps resolve this issue??

Date: 2024-03-08 05:31 am (UTC)Question for Frank. What software did you use for it? Does the site ask for a specific file type?
Great job! I'll be getting two of these. One for me, one for a gift. The UV coating sounds like a great idea for preserving these deck for the long run.

Date: 2024-03-08 03:32 pm (UTC)I used a combination of a program called rhino for the drafting and then Inkscape for the layout of each card. The site needs either a jpg or a PNG of specific sizes and it's easy enough to export those from Inkscape.
