Maybe a lot of our immune strategies rely on herd immunity or at least a mosaic of immune responses like influenza. Maybe being around large numbers of immunocompromised people who are constantly getting sick will eventually wear down even a good immune stem?
Also A Midwestern Doctor did a recent essay series which made a good case that shedding is a thing based on a litany of pretty compelling anecdotes and informal surveys. It seems to lead to a spectrum of response in the unjabbed. Maybe even if you don't have immediate symptoms, the constant spike deluge for highly exposed people imposes an immune system load that makes them more vulnerable to other things.
