Open (More or Less) Post on Covid 120

We are now in the third year of these open posts. As the phrase "died suddenly" repeats in the mass media like a mantra, statistics for work days lost to illness and all-cause mortality mount up in heavily vaccinated nations, and more and more ugly facts about the official response to Covid spill out into public, we are entering what may well turn out to be the most difficult period of the Covid disaster -- the phase in which denial rises in lockstep with the death rate, and a great many people try not to admit what has been done to them by the people and institutions they trusted. It could get ugly, folks.

So it's time for another open post. The rules are the same as before: 

1. If you plan on parroting the party line of the medical industry and its paid shills, please go away. This is a place for people to talk openly, honestly, and freely about their concerns that the party line in question is dangerously flawed and that actions being pushed by the medical industry et al. are causing injury and death. It is not a place for you to dismiss those concerns. Anyone who wants to hear the official story and the arguments in favor of it can find those on hundreds of thousands of websites.

2. If you plan on insisting that the current situation is the result of a deliberate plot by some villainous group of people or other, please go away. There are tens of thousands of websites currently rehashing various conspiracy theories about the Covid-19 outbreak and the vaccines. This is not one of them. What we're exploring is the likelihood that what's going on is the product of the same arrogance, incompetence, and corruption that the medical industry and its tame politicians have displayed so abundantly in recent decades. That possibility deserves a space of its own for discussion, and that's what we're doing here. 
 
3. If you plan on using rent-a-troll derailing or disruption tactics, please go away. I'm quite familiar with the standard tactics used by troll farms to disrupt online forums, and am ready, willing, and able -- and in fact quite eager -- to ban people permanently for engaging in them here. Oh, and I also lurk on other Covid-19 vaccine skeptic blogs, so I'm likely to notice when the same posts are showing up on more than one venue. 

4. If you don't believe in treating people with common courtesy, please go away. I have, and enforce, a strict courtesy policy on my blogs and online forums, and this is no exception. The sort of schoolyard bullying that takes place on so many other internet forums will get you deleted and banned here. Also, please don't drag in current quarrels about sex, race, religions, etc. No, I don't care if you disagree with that: my journal, my rules. 

With that said, the floor is open for discussion.

I am getting over a cold that I think may be Covid. I haven't tested myself (I'm saving the ten-dollar-a-pop test I have in my possession for going home for the holidays), but this cold is behaving pretty much the same way as the Covid-cold I got last year around this time and verified with a home-test. The differences are, I didn't run a temperature this time, and the post-illness phlegminess in my lungs and sinuses are unusually persistent.

This post is about the covid dilemma as part of the larger media landscape we have to traverse every day, and the problems we have communicating with people who still live in the world of TV and MSM.

I think the problem we're facing with communicating with covid true believers is that they are MEDIA true believers.

These are people who don't see the media they're surrounded with; they see THROUGH the media and respond only to its content. The media itself is invisible, like forgetting you're wearing glasses. Communicating with someone like that feels like my trying to say to a fish, Don't you see the water?

What I'm seeing in this forum is that people who are covid aware are also media aware - the two go together, and I don't think you can have one without the other.

The problem of media is a logical level higher than the problem with any specific content of media like the covid situation. I don't think you can address the covid awareness issue until there is some level of media awareness.

It occurs to me that it makes sense that the most useful forum on the covid situation is hosted by a highly skilled and aware occultist, since a big part of occultism is becoming aware of consciousness itself and not just being glamored by its contents. It's a parallel sort of process to becoming aware of media.

Yes! especially your last point about occultism - studying occultism helps us in this, by developing our astral and mental capablities.

But I would add, in the case of covid, it wasn't only the "media" that people were listening to (although the media was the messenger), it was governments at all levels; there were a lot of administrative actions that were put in place by governments with which people had to comply. Yes the media did give out these messages, but I think many people were very much convinced by the fact that things like vaccine mandates, or masking requirements, or rules about how many people could be in a room at once, were "law" and must be complied with.

Week 120! Thank you, JMG, for hosting and moderating, and thank you, forumistas, for showing up and shining as you do.

So this finds me at a professional conference that, it so happens, went full-out double-vaxxed covidian in 2022. When I registered for this conference some months ago, I had to tick the box to agree that I would voluntary do a home covid test every morning of the conference (haha, my home test is, I look in the mirror, do I feel fine? Yeah. OK.)

Now everyone's acting normal, no masks, no mention of jabs or tests. One person, though, when I put out my hand upon introducing myself, said, "Oh, we're doing that now?" And without ado, shook my hand.

Not sure what to make of it all. I am wary.

As the year draws to a close, I can't help but to think more time has been spent ill than well. Never anything life threatening {I think} but an all too constant cough or sniffle, often both. Kunstler made a comment yesterday about being deliberately poisoned and to be honest, it feels that way. Living deep in the blue, shedded upon by the blue meanies and none meaner than our own courts. Saw the post up thread about the latest twist in our push to gulag NYC. I'm disheartened but definitely not surprised. I thought long and hard about an escape from NY, but where. Florida was high on the maybe list only because my wife would maybe move there, but ever since Ron decided to run for president, he seems loathsome. Kind of makes me wonder about his commitment to personal freedom but it doesn't matter anyhow. I hate the humidity, I love ice and snow. The real pipe dream was always north but the collective north sucks just now. For now, it's just a street fight here, in the place where I rest my head. I would've left NYC a lifetime ago if it wasn't for Brooklyn. Like the old timers who are more memory now than anything else, it's my chance to live up to their legacy, sweeter than sugar and tougher than nails. Makes me laugh, makes me smile. It's funny, this street fight we're in. I wish all that pass through here the best of luck and to my fellow Americans, a joyous Thanksgiving. Still plenty to be thankful for, this space especially.

I sincerely recommend my home state of Wisconsin. We are currently what I call a "magenta state", that is to say, a purple state with a pronounced lean towards the red. Michigan, in contrast, is what I would call an "indigo state", a purple state with a pronounced lean towards the blue. Getting back to Wisconsin, you should know that Dane and Milwaukee Counties are our main blue strongholds. Seriously, I think our state's far-right Republican Party would just love it if those two counties just entirely disappeared into the ether never to be seen again!

COVID jabs have killed way more people than Chernobyl (which I think was deliberately blown up to impose unsustainable costs on the Soviet Union i.e. no operator error). Should we call that progress?

Apart from oil supplies, there are N different ways the US Empire could face a sudden collapse, in contrast to the slower collapse it's undergoing now.

A couple of hypersonic missiles into the bellies of aircraft carriers deployed in the Med would speed things up (JMG wrote about something similar a few years back).

One of the hardest things for me has been not getting angry at the situation and letting myself feel the fear and pain that it has created. The frustration of not being able to do anything has been ameliorated by learning simple healing techniques that I can apply and help but when I see a dear one cough more than usual and feeling sick I find myself suddenly living in a different world I cannot speak about and stuck with a feeling of dread that clashes with me trying to empathize with someone that is sick and that I care about.

Does it sound familiar? How have you dealt with it?

Yes, unfortunately it sounds and feels all to familiar Open Space. The past three years have been exhausting and strangely lonely even though I live with some family and visit frequently with others.
I've become the family medic among other things as we've grown closer and more cooperative. I struggled with the early loss of a dear one to Moderna because two folks chose to take the media advice. That's left me quietly resigned that this will all go painfully slow and unpredictable in spite of my best efforts.
I simply do my best, pray and meditate alot more and apply myself to projects and people that I love.

A beautiful fundraising footnote

‘Regulars’ at this forum may recall that a couple of weeks ago Bofur had mentioned a fundraiser for Chris Lysak – one of the four Alberta men who have been held in remand for over 640 days and denied bail as he had a ‘garbage’ legal aid lawyer and desperately needed a good lawyer. And in the course of just a few days the goal of $150k to retain said lawyer was achieved (yay!).

I would just like to share a footnote to the fundraising story that has warmed my heart. Jason Lavigne, who has been making almost daily reports on the ‘Coutts Boys’ case via social media for many months, stated yesterday that due to the contentious nature of the fundraiser (i.e., some really nasty people were accusing it of being a fraud) GiveSendGo conducted a secondary verification process (don’t worry – it was cleared). Due to this process, the GiveSendGo people got to know about Chris’s situation and were so taken aback by the extreme injustices of his case that the GiveSendGo team called up the funding recipient (a close friend of Chris’s) and collectively said a prayer. In essence, the malicious fraud claim backfired spectacularly: had GiveSendGo not conducted the secondary verification process they would not have known about the case. GiveSendGo folks even contributed to the fundraiser! I hope this news brightens your day at least a bit, as it did mine. There are still good people out there; you just have to know where to look (in Canada these days more often than not it involves looking for a truck or a redneck or a veteran)!
