Open (More or Less) Post on Covid 75

So it's time for another open post. The rules are the same as before:
1. If you plan on parroting the party line of the medical industry and its paid shills, please go away. This is a place for people to talk openly, honestly, and freely about their concerns that the party line in question is dangerously flawed and that actions being pushed by the medical industry et al. are causing injury and death. It is not a place for you to dismiss those concerns. Anyone who wants to hear the official story and the arguments in favor of it can find those on hundreds of thousands of websites.
2. If you plan on insisting that the current situation is the result of a deliberate plot by some villainous group of people or other, please go away. There are tens of thousands of websites currently rehashing various conspiracy theories about the Covid-19 outbreak and the vaccines. This is not one of them. What we're exploring is the likelihood that what's going on is the product of the same arrogance, incompetence, and corruption that the medical industry and its tame politicians have displayed so abundantly in recent decades. That possibility deserves a space of its own for discussion, and that's what we're doing here.
3. If you plan on using rent-a-troll derailing or disruption tactics, please go away. I'm quite familiar with the standard tactics used by troll farms to disrupt online forums, and am ready, willing, and able -- and in fact quite eager -- to ban people permanently for engaging in them here. Oh, and I also lurk on other Covid-19 vaccine skeptic blogs, so I'm likely to notice when the same posts are showing up on more than one venue.
4. If you don't believe in treating people with common courtesy, please go away. I have, and enforce, a strict courtesy policy on my blogs and online forums, and this is no exception. The sort of schoolyard bullying that takes place on so many other internet forums will get you deleted and banned here. Also, please don't drag in current quarrels about sex, race, religious, etc. No, I don't care if you disagree with that: my journal, my rules.
With that said, the floor is open for discussion.
Another one...
Date: 2023-01-15 12:20 am (UTC)This one is not in the news or reported anywhere. How many more are there or will there be?
Thinking about what is to come.

PS. Still hoping my son doesn't choose college.
Re: Another one...
Date: 2023-01-15 02:47 pm (UTC)Most of the kids are on some sort of mind altering drug. Most are obsessed with talking about sex and gender and race. Most are anti-Semitic and anti faith of any kind. Most are obsessed with true crime, ghosts, and doing hexes and spells.
In short, its crazy town.
Re: Another one...
Date: 2023-01-16 10:42 am (UTC)It is so confusing to see the turn of the people who used to fight against censorship and mandates to the enforcers and evangelists for the crazy narrative.
I believe my son would leave school before taking the vax, but one can never be sure.
In what other ways were your children touched by their college experiences? Was it net positive?

Re: Another one...
Date: 2023-01-16 10:45 pm (UTC)I think one of the important questions to ask, is WHY do you want to go to college, what do you hope to get out of it, and is college the best or only way to get that?
There are lots of reasons people choose college, and each one requires a different investigation of whether or not college is a good idea.
Some people think it will get them a better job in some vague way, while others are certain that they want to do "X" and that requires a specific degree. Others think it will be a fun four years with people their own age, or want some sort of "college experience" that they've seen portrayed in various media over the years. Some people really do want to broaden their horizons with an old-fashioned liberal arts education.
Knowing what he's "really" after might help you guide him in the best direction.
If college is still his choice, you might want to look into finding options that don't require the jabs. One of my nephews is going to school in Florida, and there is no cootie-jab mandate at his school.
Just my 2 cents.
