Smudge for the winAs we proceed through the second year of these open posts, it's pretty clear that the official narrative is cracking as the toll of deaths and injuries from the Covid vaccines rises steadily and the vaccines themselves demonstrate their total uselesness at preventing Covid infection or transmission. It's still important to keep watch over the mis-, mal- and nonfeasance of our self-proclaimed health gruppenfuehrers, and the disastrous results of the Covid mania, but I think it's also time to begin thinking about what might be possible as the existing medical industry reels under the impact of its own self-inflicted injuries.

So it's time for another open post. The rules are the same as before:

1. If you plan on parroting the party line of the medical industry and its paid shills, please go away. This is a place for people to talk openly, honestly, and freely about their concerns that the party line in question is dangerously flawed and that actions being pushed by the medical industry et al. are causing injury and death. It is not a place for you to dismiss those concerns. Anyone who wants to hear the official story and the arguments in favor of it can find those on hundreds of thousands of websites.

2. If you plan on insisting that the current situation is the result of a deliberate plot by some villainous group of people or other, please go away. There are tens of thousands of websites currently rehashing various conspiracy theories about the Covid-19 outbreak and the vaccines. This is not one of them. What we're exploring is the likelihood that what's going on is the product of the same arrogance, incompetence, and corruption that the medical industry and its tame politicians have displayed so abundantly in recent decades. That possibility deserves a space of its own for discussion, and that's what we're doing here.

3. If you plan on using rent-a-troll derailing or disruption tactics, please go away. I'm quite familiar with the standard tactics used by troll farms to disrupt online forums, and am ready, willing, and able -- and in fact quite eager -- to ban people permanently for engaging in them here. Oh, and I also lurk on other Covid-19 vaccine skeptic blogs, so I'm likely to notice when the same posts are showing up on more than one venue.

4. If you don't believe in treating people with common courtesy, please go away. I have, and enforce, a strict courtesy policy on my blogs and online forums, and this is no exception. The sort of schoolyard bullying that takes place on so many other internet forums will get you deleted and banned here. Also, please don't drag in current quarrels about sex, race, religious, etc. No, I don't care if you disagree with that: my journal, my rules.

With that said, the floor is open for discussion.

Last week several people suggested asking homeschoolers for suggestions of pediatricians who take patients who don't follow the CDC "recommended" schedule.

Not really sure how to do that since my baby is only 9 months old. Well, I emailed someone I saw on a resources for homeschoolers list, and applied to join a facebook group. (Haven't heard back from either.) But why would the facebook group let someone join who just has a baby? I just feel weird about this.

I already struck out with the recommendations from homeschooling relatives who used to live here and have since moved away. Those docs have either retired or aren't taking new patients.

Any suggestions on how to approach (or even find) homeschoolers given that I don't have any school-age kids? I guess I'm lucky that I actually *have* always planned to homeschool but...

Send an inquiry to the FB group you're interested in. Be honest: "Hey, my kid is only 9mos, so obviously I'm not homeschooling yet, but I'm interested in what's going on in the area, local hs resources, and possibly meeting other homeschooling parents with young children-- also looking for crunchy-compatible pediatrician recommendations. If this isn't the right group, that's OK-- do you know where else I might look?"

that way, you're not lying to anyone, and the group admins may be able to help even if they don't think you joining the group is appropriate.

my kid is only 9mos... &c

Bingo. OP, there's nothing weird about this at all, every homeschool group I've ever seen (which is a lot, we moved around a few times) would welcome someone who is thinking about homeschooling in the future. Just contact them.

I have definitely seen such inquiries in the homeschooler groups I follow, so the mods let them through. Worth a try. And once you're in the group, odds are excellent that a dozen other people have already asked about pediatricians, dentists, etc. and all you have to do is search those posts and comb through the comments.

It’s tough. I think about how I’d respond to a rando approaching me. “Ah, here comes the fed.” It’s frustrating that so many games have been played over the years that one has to think this way.

I kinda did that but less gracefully (you have some great wording there!). I had sent a join request and answered their form questions: Baby is 9 months old, not homeschooling yet of course but have always planned to, I live in one of the towns they cover (well, I think. They used a non-official term which I'm unsure exactly which towns it applies to ).

I thought maybe I should say I'm interested in finding a doctor, but wasn't sure how to word it, so thanks for that "crunchy compatible" wording! I'll try it in the future.

Honestly, 99% of homeschooler groups, you probably won't even have to ask, because a dozen people have asked already. Once you have access to the group, do a quick search for "pediatrician" and just read all the previous posts and comments to get the scoop on all your local doctors.

You might also poke around and see if there are any "crunchy mamas" or "preschool nature play groups" in your area, whose FB groups you might join.

Once you've joined such a group, odds are good you don't even have to ask about local doctors, just search the group for the last eight people who've asked and read through the comments ;)

I wouldn't worry about the fact that your child is so young-- in another 4 yrs it'll be time for kindergarten already! Time goes by faster than the speed of science! I would think that homeschoolers would be welcoming and helpful to the degree feasible. I would just state the matter plainly, for example, "my child is only 9 months old but how time flies, would love to start thinking about options and whatever elese I should be thinking about for homeschooling." etc.

It never hurts to ask. Many doors may open for you!

And if anyone's a jerk, well, better to find it out now rather than later.

Hope this helps.
