Ceremony o fthe GrailPandemics and international crises may come and go, but a writer's life follows a slower rhythm, dictated by the hard work of research and writing, to say nothing of the necessary timelines and random whims of publishers.  The book on the left, The Ceremony of the Grail: Ancient Mysteries, Gnostic Heresies, and the Lost Rituals of Freemasonry, is the sequel to my title The Secret of the Temple; it has been in preparation for most of a decade now. and has been working its way through the publication process for most of a year. It's been postponed once already due to supply chain issues, but is currently expected to hit the shelves in December of this year; I'll post more about it as soon as the date of publication is confirmed.

SotT coverIn the meantime, however, the publisher has been gracious enough to provide a discount on the first book in the series, The Secret of the Temple: Earth Energies, Sacred Geometry, and the Lost Keys of Freemasonry.  This is the book where I first traced the discovery and history of a lost folk technology of agricultural abundance, symbolized in the legends of the Holy Grail and the Temple of Solomon, which used specially designed religious structures as resonating chambers for natural energies to improve crop yields. It's not necessary to read The Secret of the Temple to follow the history recounted in The Ceremony of the Grail -- but I admit it helps. ;-)

Be that as it may, Llewellyn Publications is offering a 20% discount on The Secret of the Temple from now until the end of the year. You can get the discount at the Llewellyn website -- you'll need a Llewellyn account, but you can sign up for one of those for free.  The discount code, which you need to enter at checkout, is TEMPLE20.

This is an ongoing research project of mine and more books will doubtless be forthcoming. A little less exciting than slogging through distant jungles in search of a lost temple?  No doubt, but it's got fewer scorpions and almost as much of a sense of adventure...

Delighted to see this! These two are near the top of my list for next year when I can read books by living authors again.

I highly recommend The Secret of the Temple, a lot of actionable stuff in there for those who farm too, and am waiting eagerly for The Ceremony of the Grail.

I'm interested to see what the science experiment offered in the book is.

I'm looking forward to reading it.
I see that they used the cup from the Indiana Jones movie for the picture on the cover ;)

There is a point in one of the Indiana Jones movies where dr.Jones tells his class, that „most of the archeology is done in a library“. And at the entrance to the classroom a man is already standing with his next call to adventure.

So my dear sir;
I am highly suspicious of you right now;
I am mentally picturing that photo of you that was done for your book The academy of the sword.
Plus fedora bullwhip and revolver

There are old stone walls in my back yard that were miraculously spared while the rest of the valley was developed, and I just upped the lease for 2 years moments before reading this. The best part? Our landlords live thousands of miles away.

Never thought I would say this but I'm actually looking forward to December 2022.

Solid work

Very exciting. I've been looking forward to this for a while now.

If you're allowed to tell us, have the various Rosicrucian traditions you are involved in been an asset in this research?

Wow this will be a special Christmas. I rate the first book amongst my favourites of yours, along with Inside a Magical Lodge.

I wonder if you'll confirm what I've been suspecting, that the temple technology is similar to Reich's orgone technology. I had a read up on his oranur experiment, done in the 1950s, which effectively showed that a reasonance chamber gone wrong (with radiation inside) had a wide area effect (radiation and stunting of life adjacent to the lab). I wondered if the converse of that, as in a resonance chamber working, would have a similar and beneficial effect on the surrounding lab. Reich may have stumbled on the grail himself, but not knowing the legends, didn't realise it

Congratulations!

Hello!

Congratulations for your new book! I read secret of the temple and I think it merits a second more detailed reading! I will certainly buy the sequel. It's such an intruiging aspect of occult lore.

Regards

Could this be related to Terra Prata?

I may be wrong about this, but I have a suspicion that the secret in question is also quite likely the main cause behind terra prata's extraordinary fertility.

As an aside - could you recommend a book on low cost experiments pertaining to plants and agriculture? I live in an apartment building, and there's very little space in my house, but the building has a large common garden, as well as a terrace. I'm thinking of putting up waste plastic containers filled with an organic potting mix, for cultivating vegetables, on the terrace. Of course, I'll need the committee's permission, but I guess I can try to convince them. If they say yes, maybe I can set up a few other plastic containers as well to do the said experiments...

You could take a look at my blog, where I've been discussing the gardening experiments I've been conducting for the past 10 years: http://livinglowinthelou.blogspot.com/

Carol Deppe's book Breed Your Own Vegetable Varieties describes her garden experiments. She includes a more general guide to garden trials that I think you will find helpful.

I looked into this a bit. Terra preta soils are highly paramagnetic,so that's one tick. They also contain a lot of sharp pottery shards, which are diamagnetic. I think of them as something of a soil semiconductor. I see the pointy nature of the shards as similar to the waveguide like functions which Dr Callaghan investigated, as in, insect antennae or the tops of Irish round towers.

I suspect there's a whole ecosystem and landscape layer to this as well, that we haven't even begun to understand

Would you, or anybody else, have any reading suggestions to inch into the other dimensions of such systems?

I had already preordered it and will hope to read it soon!
I still wonder, is there more known to who/what will show up if one sets up a temple like it?

Secret of the temple

I read Secret of the Temple when it first came out and found it fascinating, especially with my background in soil science and watershed management. I am Heathen now, but decades ago I was Episcopalian. I remember our rector telling us about how difficult it had been, when the church was built, to conform to the church tradition of having the altar connected to the bedrock under the church. Our region is covered by extremely deep glacial loess, and according to the rector, they had to sink a long stone shaft to unite the altar with deep bedrock. Don’t know whether that custom has any relationship to the phenomena you discuss, JMG, but the possibility is intriguing.
