Monday, Magic Monday

Once again, it's technically Monday now -- past midnight Eastern time -- and here I am on Dreamwidth, so it's time for another Magic Monday.  Ask me anything about occultism and I'll do my best to answer it. Any question received by midnight Monday Eastern time will get an answer, though it may be Tuesday sometime before I get to them all.

It's sometimes useful to sit with depression for a while and learn what it has to teach you. One lesson it very often teaches is clarity. For example, the fact that you're probably not going to make a living from art doesn't mean that the energy you put into art was wasted; making a living isn't the whole of life. A lot of really good artists have had day jobs.

Depression also comes right before acceptance, and acceptance comes right before picking yourself up and doing something. That's more useful than hope, in my experience.
