The UFO Chronicles

I'm delighted to report that The UFO Chronicles, the updated, revised, and considerably expanded new edition of my book on the UFO phenomenon, will be released Monday from Aeon Books. This is not your ordinary UFO book. Since 1947, with embarrassingly few exceptions, the entire subject has been frozen in a false dichotomy between "UFO believers" (meaning people whose default opinion about any unknown object in the sky is that it must be an alien spacecraft) and "UFO skeptics" (meaning people whose default opinion about any unknown object in the sky is that was never there in the first place). 

That false dichotomy, more than any other factor, is what has made it impossible to get past the contending parties and see what's actually been going on since Kenneth Arnold first spotted something strange in the skies near Mount Rainier. I've been fascinated by the whole subject since childhood; I figured out a long time ago, with substantial help from books by Jacques Vallee and John Keel, that neither of the two loudly publicized sets of claims made any sense of the phenomenon -- and The UFO Chronicles: How Science Fiction, Shamanic Experiences, and Secret Air Force Projects Created the UFO Myth is the result.

Great to see this get a revision, I could never get my hands on the original.

Are those beings ("aliens") same as the beings who were called ascended masters, secret chiefs, inner plane adepti and the like?

I wonder if there was definite Alian visitors for humanity to obviously see would there be similarities between first contacts between Europeans and the native people's of the Americas. There is a case to be made that our Species(Homo Sapiens) should try avoid letting our presence known elsewhere in the Galaxy.

Looking forward to reading the new edition. The first one was the most refreshingly sensible and sane book on the subject I think I ever read. I'll be pointing my friends who are interested in the subject to it as well.

On the main order page they say available in North America, but if you click through your cart, they say they cannot accept or deliver orders from Canada. So US and Mexico I guess?

Did you discuss the influence of shamanic experience in the first edition? I occasionally start sniffing around some star people accounts because they start familiar, but then drop the line because they veer off into physical little green men territory.

Canuckian Conundrum

For the Canada/US link, when I add the book to my cart there is red text at the top of the page stating "ORDERS ACCEPTED FOR DELIVERY IN THE U.S. ONLY." The dropdown list under "Shipping Selection" doesn't seem to list Canada either. Should I just use the UK/Europe link to order instead or am I missing something in the Canada/US link?
