I was wondering when something like this was going to show up.

Kek has spoken
Notice the string of repeated digits. Back during the Kek wars of 2016, strings like that -- "gets," in internet jargon -- were treated by the alt-right chaos mages of the chans as revelations from the frog god...

(If you have no idea what I'm talking about, this four-part post -- Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4 -- explains it.)

I'm wondering if that map shows the election results. That would be fairly cool if it does! On the other hand, I'm still open to the possibility the 538 synchronicities indicate Trump will win every electoral college vote. We will see in a few days though!

Well I never.

Synchronistically for this post, I was driving my family to the shops earlier when I spotted a clear "KEK" in the registration of the car in front of me. It jumped out at me in a way that felt significant at any rate (maybe those willed attention exercises have something to do with it...)

Thing is, I live in Glasgow Scotland :-). So I've no idea if it should mean anything in my case...

I think Trump's reelection will play a similar role to Solidarity's election in Poland in 1989: the political event which leads to the death of an established political religion across a large swath of the world. Which means that these kinds of synchronicities are probably going to be global....

Absolutely fascinating. It will be very interesting to see how this pans out.

I suspect you may be very right in that many of the polls are being swayed by both bias sampling and by folks not admitting their voting preference.

Regardless, strap in folks, this next week will be interesting.

What I've read-- and it makes sense to me-- is that polling has a huge problem with working-class men. They don't answer polls. They get one "working class man" answer for every twenty college-educated women. AND the polling questions (household income, education etc) cannot differentiate between Dylan who works at Starbucks and Ray who didn't answer his phone because he's put in 60 hours at a construction site this week (but will be unemployed after that job ends). Those two guys do not vote the same, but Dylan's poll answers are multiplied x20 and plugged into the poll results to represent all the Rays who don't talk to pollsters.

It doesn't even have to be "shy" voters: it's that sampling is inevitably biased toward people who A) Have a lot of spare time B) Are bored C) trust strangers who call on the phone and D) Answer the phone when it's not a number they recognize. This is a far more skewed demographic than most people realize.

I live in the bluest of blue regions. I'm hornswoggled by the extent to which absolutely everyone around me has apparently been propagandized into perfect uniformity of opinion. I walk around town a lot. Not one single pro-Trump sign have I seen anywhere, while signage praising BLM to the skies is multiplied on every block. Friends I've known for decades would be be repulsed and horrified to know what I'm thinking. It's really rather scary. Conversely, the mainstream media is increasingly sounding like Baghdad Bob to my ear - they might as well be declaring that Republicans are committing suicide outside the walls of Washington D.C.

I remember in 2012, commentators were talking about the epistemic closure of the Republicans that lead to their defeat. A mere eight years later, and the PMC/Democrats seem to be suffering the same problem.

I would like Tuesday to punch through their barriers, but maybe I'm the one who's deluded, and who's about to get slapped in the face by reality. And even if the election does go the way I think, will it get through to the Democrats? Or do we have another four years of schizophrenia to wade through?

With my work being in customer service for an insurance company I am always having to validate IDs. I'll say for the past two or three weeks I have noticed a HIGHLY unusual amount of IDs containing three or more digits in a row, usually 444, 000, 999, or 777. Yesterday there was even a 666. I've been doing this work for nearly 3 years and getting a call with three digits in a row being the same was unusual. Having it occur multiple times on a daily basis has been telling me something.

Wow. That is crazy. I am slowly coming around to the idea that Trump could win big (I want it to happen) but I have a ton of trouble tuning out the hyper-blue propaganda of my hometown. In my deepest knee-jerk emotions, I assume the polls are more right than not, and that a landslide is impossible. JMG, do you have any advice for turning rational understanding into intuitive acceptance? I've been doing the Training of the Will exercises that you have been posting, to nice effect. Is this just another example of willing your uneasy unconscious to accept the judgement of your rational mind?

Like last time, the warning bells have been ringing but Democrats keep burying their heads in the sand.

A reporter travelled through some swing states and was shocked that mainstream narratives weren't as effective as believed:

"The more people I met, the more I detected something deep and unpredictable lurking beneath the surface, something that I wasn’t sure was reflected in the polling data, something that maybe couldn’t even be measured at all. My phone was filling with news: news about wildfires engulfing the West Coast; news about Trump reportedly calling fallen soldiers “losers” and “suckers”; news about the death toll from COVID-19 passing 200,000; news of Trump’s admitting to journalist Bob Woodward on tape that he had intentionally downplayed the virus, purportedly to avoid causing a panic. But almost nobody seemed to be talking about these headlines, and when I asked about them, people often didn’t believe them or didn’t care. I felt caught in the chasm between the election as it was being reported by my colleagues in the press and the election as it was being experienced by the voters."

"Much of the time, I got back into my white Ford rental with a pit in my stomach. Conspiracy theories like QAnon–the perverse delusion that Trump is the final defense against a “deep state” cabal of Democrats and Hollywood elite who traffic and rape children–kept cropping up in my conversations. Two women in Cedarburg, Wis., told me the “cabal” was running tunnels under the U.S. to traffic children so elites could torture them and drink their blood. When I checked into an airport hotel in Kalamazoo, Mich., the night manager made small talk about politicians running a pedophile ring as he directed me to the elevator."

Maybe it's not who he's for as much as who he's against. Kek is a chaos god, and the opposite of chaos is order. What could be more orderly than the Cathedral? No dissent, no heterodoxy, sacrifices freedom for safety at the drop of a hat, and all the propaganda money can buy. Any opinion that went against the mainstream was being swept off the internet, with eventually even elected officials being censored by Twitter, for instance. The process went slowly of course, they were trying to boil the frog.
Well the frog woke up.

I've been saying all along that if anyone can lose to Trump it would be Joe Biden. But here in Phoenix Arizona I am not seeing anything like what the commenters above are seeing. Republicans seem demoralized, anti-republicans seem energized, Biden signs outnumber Trump signs in the central city by about 20-1, and the signs are about even in the more conservative burbs.

It will certainly be interesting if it turns out that all the different pollsters have no idea what they are doing and are as stupid and deranged as folks here are saying.

Data Points

From: (Anonymous)
Here in a traditionally blue part of Colorado, the latest fashion craze is to mount a full-size trump flag in the back of your pickup truck. At first, it was the same two or three trucks around town, but now I've lost count. Those who find bolting a literal flagpole in their vehicle a little daunting are making due with those miniature flags that hang out your window.

The big flags are rather popular as home decoration as well, and I drive past a couple dozen houses flying trump flags on my way to work, several of which have multiple flags in combination with other Trump signs, and one--which is already particularly visible, as it has the distinction of being on a hill and the highest house in the area--which has no fewer than eight full size Trump flags flying high.

There are also plenty of those little picket signs, but a lot of people are preferring more committed methods of expression. Back when Bloomberg was a candidate, little picket signs appeared in everyone's yards overnight and disappeared as soon as the property owners woke up the next day. The majority of Biden signs I've seen have actually come and gone the same way, so I think the Trump crowed wants to make it clear that MAGA is no astroturf.

I personally know a couple people who were afraid of vandalism and so instead opted to fly American flags, reasoning that it got a similar message across. I can only confirm two people who are using American flags as "stealth Trump flags" personally, but I did notice an explosion of American flags around the same time (4th of July, but with the intention of leaving them up until the election or permanently).

I drive into a particularly wealthy area that I work in but cannot afford to live anywhere near. For a long time, that area had no political signs at all. About a month ago, someone finally put up a Biden picket sign in their yard, which was the first Biden sign I had seen at that point. Other people responded by putting up more picket signs, but in the end Trump signs outnumber Biden signs by about three to one, though apparently no one who lives there is Deplorable enough to go for a flag.

Two details I find particularly interesting about that area is that the Trump picket signs are in both residential property and business property--right by the door, usually, meaning that business owners even in that part of town are not afraid of losing business. The second is that, although there are a decent number of genuine Biden picket signs that stay in people's yards, there have been a couple rounds of Biden picket signs appearing in a bunch of peoples' yards one day and disappear the next, suggesting a somewhat feeble attempt at astroturfing. The Trump signs by contrast occasionally get removed or vandalized but are immediately replaced.

I have not yet seen a Biden sign outside of that area that was not removed a day after being placed there, although admittedly I haven't been out and about much recently.

Report from a swing state here. I'm currently visiting NE Ohio/Western PA. My hometown seems to be averaging about 10 Trump signs to every Biden sign. There are also lots of homemade Trump signs (Vets for Trump, Women for Trump, Guns God Country Trump). What is most striking however, is the absolutely massive amount of American flags everywhere. I drove down a few streets where every single yard had a newly installed flag pole and were flying the American flag. I have never seen that here to the same extent.

I am also hearing that people are stocking up on water, buying generators, etc. in anticipation of civil unrest after Election Day.

Conversely, in my blue city a few states away, there are a few Biden signs, more BLM signs, and a noticeable lack of American flags. I haven't heard about any stockpiling.

Have any of seen James Howard Kunstler's blog post from a week and a half ago in which he explains why he will be voting for the Orange Julius?

https://kunstler.com/clusterfuck-nation/last-round-up-at-the-wokester-corral/

Kunstler is a lifelong registered Democrat and someone who has repeatedly expressed disdain for Trump, so it came as a shock to many people and he got considerable pushback on social media. Personally, I see it as a sign of the times. In the same light, we've seen a number of African American celebrities such as rap stars Kanye West and Ice Cube who openly support the King in Orange in spite of the flak they've been catching.

Indeed, one of the recent blog posts on SNAFU (run by an African American military veteran from the Deep South) pointed out that Trump's approval ratings among black voters have gone up sharply, especially in the last couple of weeks. If the trend continues, it's quite possible Trump might win a majority of the African American vote, especially since the polls in question were directed at likely voters and were conducted by the polling agency that has gotten the most accurate results in recent elections.

It may be too late to move the meter much, but Kamala Harris today tweeted this (https://twitter.com/KamalaHarris/status/1322963321994289154), which contrasts "equality" and "equity." It starts out reasonably enough, pointing out that some people are disadvantaged from the start, and so equal treatment will still leave them worse off, but ends with the words "Equitable treatment means we all end up at the same place."

Holy cripes. Imagine if Trump tweeted out a promise to make Amtrak keep to its time tables.

From: (Anonymous)
This actually captures my main argument with this kind of "equity": what if I want to go somewhere else? The reason I fail at most metrics of success our society presents is very simply that I'm going in a different direction: too many proposals for "equity" end up making my life more difficult by trying to force me back into the mould I'm consciously walking away from....
