I just ran across a stunningly good summary of our energy predicament in cartoon form by Australian cartoonist Stuart McMillen. Its focus is Buckminster Fuller's concept of "energy slaves" -- basically, the idea that you can make sense of energy use most effectively by working out how many human beings it would take to do the same thing -- and what that implies when we factor in the rise and impending fall of the fossil fuel economy.
