Magic Monday
Feb. 23rd, 2020 11:49 pm
It's just about midnight as I type this, so here we go with a new Magic Monday. This week's classic book of Western occultism is Self-Unfoldment by Disciplines of Realization by the inimitable Manly Palmer Hall, the most influential American occultist of the 20th century. Hall wrote scores of books and hundreds of pamphlets, some much more famous than this one, but to my mind this is his single best work, a clear, thoughtful, and balanced guide to meditation and spiritual development. It's currently out of print, though I hope some enthusiasm for it can change that; combine it with the Knapp-Hall tarot deck, which Hall helped design, and the notes on practice Hall slipped into the booklet that goes with the deck, and you have a tolerably complete guide to the method of meditation Hall taught to his inner students. Ask me anything about occultism and I'll do my best to answer it. Any question received by midnight Monday Eastern time will get an answer. If you're in a hurry, or suspect you may be the 143,916th person to ask a question, please check out the very rough version 1.0 of The Magic Monday FAQ here.
I've had several people ask about tipping me for answers here, and though I certainly don't require that I won't turn it down. You can use the button below to access my online tip jar. 2b) Does the fact I've experienced what appears to be Pele then suggest it's more likely I'll end up living there in the near future?
2c) Fair enough!
3) My apologies! It should've read "I have issues with coffee most of the time. It gives me a nasty headache, but while I was in Hawaii, I drank copious amounts of it, and it seemed to have an effect much like tea does. I got to see a coffee farm, and asked about processing, and apparently there's no further processing done for shipping. I've also tried some since getting back, and found it causes the same issues as usual. Coffee appears to resonate with the tropics in some way, and is beneficial there, but harmful elsewhere. Do you know what could cause this?"
4) Huh, interesting. If I resonate well with the area, then would my health (physical, mental, spiritual) improve if I moved there? If so, perhaps I should plan to do that.
My other plan was to try to find somewhere with a strong telluric current, but perhaps it's best to just plan to move there.

Date: 2020-02-24 05:41 am (UTC)3) Precisely the fact that foods and drinks are usually appropriate for the places where they grow, and may not be appropriate for the places where they don't. That's partly a matter of climate, partly energetic, partly subtle factors not well understood even by occultists.
4) That's rather more likely than not. One thing you can do is ask the universe to show you if you're meant to move there, and see what odd coincidences happen as a result, if any.

Date: 2020-02-24 05:47 am (UTC)4) Well, for a variety of reasons I'm inclined to pursue a particular course of post-secondary studies, and just found out one of the best schools in the world is located in Hawaii....

Date: 2021-06-28 08:22 am (UTC)I've visited Maui, and Hawaii, both in the last few years.
Maui, I experienced very strong telluric currents: while practicing Sphere of Protection, I encountered noticable feedback during Spirit Below.
In Hawaii/Big Island, it wasnt as pronounced for me. Saying that, I felt that Hilo vs Kona side of the island may as well have been different continents for how dissimilar they felt and ymmv depending on where you experienced your contact.
I loved being in Hawaii, and felt strong energy in the water as much as being on the land, much more so than Maui, overall.
