I've been doing the SOP for about a year and have just started working with the imagery (etc) in my meditation sessions. I think I'll stick with the DMH version for now, but I'm happy with both the synchronicity of your bringing up the SOP here AND that you're walking us all through it with a slight variation in perspective.
Each time I learned a section, I'd practice it for a while and go back to review the book only to find, inevitably, I'd missed or slightly bungled something while learning it. Taking it as meditation fodder is one step toward re-newing/reviewing my connection with the way it was taught in DMH, though I'll be interested, somewhere down the line, to try this version and see if I notice any difference. I don't think I would at this point, I'm pretty sure I'm still too much of a novice.
At least I HAVE noticed, though, that I really love doing it every day. I hate to miss it.
