Magic Monday

It's almost midnight, so here we go with a new Magic Monday. The picture is Max Heindel, founder of the Rosicrucian Fraternity, one of the big four American Rosicrucian orders during the golden age of American occultism -- that was most of a century ago, in case you were wondering.

Ask me anything about occultism and I'll do my best to answer it. Any question received by midnight Monday Eastern time will get an answer, though it may be Tuesday sometime before I get to them all.

Five Tibetan rites

Hi, JMG. This is intriguing to me. Is the Five Tibetan Rites the kind of energy manipulation system that should not be mixed with Western Occultism?

No, they seem to mesh fairly well with Western occult practice. Donald Michael Kraig introduced them to the occult scene in his book Modern Magic quite some years ago, and I've never heard of anyone having a bad result with them.

Mind you, they're not actually Tibetan -- they're standard Western physical culture exercises, gussied up in Tibetan drag because that's what you did back in the day to make your inventions look more interesting to the market. (The logic is the same as in Gerald Garner's imaginary teacher, etc.)
