On #2: Homeopathic theory of disease, as well as many other forms of alt-health modalities, state that the physical manifestation of illness are ultimately caused by "miasms". The nature of these miasms, as described by the core texts of homeopathy, can be recognized as mainly etheric with a side of low astral for good measure. The SOP acts primarily on the astral plane, so it should dislodge the more subtle aspect of the miasma, and make it more vulnerable to the purely etheric defenses of the human body (look for the wei qi concept in Traditional Chinese Medicine). The only question that remains is if your health will benefit from a less than perfect SOP, or if your practice of the SOP will get tainted by your current disease. To be honest, I don't know a straight answer to that question, but my guess is that ones hygiene is better served by showering in less than pristine water, than no shower at all.
