It is very important for me to remember that because I tend to forget the context when I am focusing too hard on something!
Moving outside of my country and getting back when I visit provides a nice contrast in this regard. Even though many horrible things do happen in nations that have to rely mostly on their community, instead of having a functioning government, all the joyful things that I have lived still happened and continue to happen in that context. Lately I have made myself do an exercise, for every thing that makes me angry, disappointed or otherwise evoke something in me, I remind myself of the good things so that it is put in context. I suck at it! Which means I have a dependency on it and it is affecting my perception of the world. We humans can get addicted to the weirdest of things.
Trust, trust the light. Yes. But show light to the creatures of the night and for them it will be darker than darkness, to paraphrase Lévi. It takes some serious undoing to get back into the light when one has found solace in darkness. I am making it sound super dramatic, but hey, it is true to some degree when one picks up some of the many bad habits our culture fosters.
I will most gladly receive your blessings! And may you be blessed and the Light always shine bright over you and your loved ones :)
Thank you, thank you for that, and for making me think about this!
