I share the sentiment. It reminds me of the first Obama administration. When I saw who he appointed I lost Hope and knew there wouldn't be any Change.
As secretary of state I was hoping Trump would appoint someone like Maersheimer and on Defense Col. McGregor. Now I think a snowball in hell has better chances.
Yesterday Col. McGregor talked with Judge Napolitano. He stated that Trump seems to think that he inherits the same country he left 4 years ago and that they don't realize how much things have worsened. The US has no clout any more internationally and a big economic collapse is looming. Spending will continue to be out of control while the Israel hawks won't put anything in the way of Netanyahu. But he was positive about health and borderprotection. The judge seemed a bit taken aback by this sober if realistic viewpoint, but the Col's assessment seems mostly right imo.
I guess Trump will do better than any Obama 4 administration but the trajectory of the West won't and probably cannot be changed in a significant way. Time will tell...
