Magic Monday

It's a few minutes before midnight, so we can launch into a new Magic Monday. Ask me anything about occultism and I'll do my best to answer it. With certain exceptions, any question received by midnight Monday Eastern time will get an answer. Please note:  Any question or comment received after then will not get an answer, and in fact will just be deleted. (I've been getting an increasing number of people trying to post after these are closed, so will have to draw a harder line than before.) If you're in a hurry, or suspect you may be the 143,916th person to ask a question, please check out the very rough version 1.1 of The Magic Monday FAQ here. Also: I will not be putting through or answering any more questions about practicing magic around children. I've answered those in simple declarative sentences in the FAQ. If you read the FAQ and don't think your question has been answered, read it again. If that doesn't help, consider remedial reading classes; yes, it really is as simple and straightforward as the FAQ says. 

The image? I field a lot of questions about my books these days, so I've decided to do little capsule summaries of them here, one per week. The book above on the left was my fifteenth published book, and it's the one book of mine that I've allowed to go out of print permanently. The publisher who brought out Monsters was interested in other books in the broad paranormal-weird stuff end of things, and the Atlantis legend was an obvious topic; unfortunately the result was rushed, and not really well thought out. Someday I want to do a proper book on the Atlantis legend, and more generally on the tradition that there were entire cycles of advanced civilization in the distant past -- but this is not that book, and I'm somewhat embarrassed by it.

1) What does coming into the energy field of the archangel entail?

3) I just did. Was positive (signifier was scorpio, mars in capricorn in the 11th house, I was saturn pisces in the 1st house). How would you recommend I go about this?

Not JMG,

but for 1) and Archangel Michael, for me, it meant that his blessings were closer and my energy and myself become a little bit like his. It becomes much more noticeable if you anchor those energies in the material plane by taking actions that correspond with him and his attributes. I've done this with a candle and asking prayers for others and their protection, specially during the pandemic and it works really well.

Interesting. Last year I started praying to Archangel Michael on behalf of a young boy I know who is trapped in an abusive family and has little likelihood of getting out of it for many years. I asked Michael to give him courage and resilience to survive this period of his life with his soul and body intact.

It was a definite turning point for me in relationship to the Archangel, whom I had previously only tepidly approached (and for my own family’s comparatively very minor issues). After beginning to pray for this boy’s courage and strength, suddenly Michael was present. I could feel his huge presence. It was humbling and very eye opening.

I had a similar experience when I shared a public simple working to Archangel Michael here two years ago, and at least a couple people commented they saw good results that week or the week after --and I was contacted the next week by a friend with no relation to ecosophia who needed a St. Michael working! Which worked wonderfully, no more narcos demanding money at her business' doorstep. Michael has a huge presence indeed.

I hope the kid is alright!

So incidentally I have been praying for others as a part of Tunesmyth's prayer list. What else would you suggest would be actions that would be Michael-like? (IIRC he's a solar deity so there would be some sun attributes too).

That seems Michael-like enough to me! Protection and the banishment of unwanted things, I particularly prayed for literal physical safety and the banishment of disease.

Incidentally, Tunesmyth at the bottom of his prayer list does a Sunday, solar prayer at the hour of the Sun which you could easily adapt to Michael. You can check the details in his journal, I think he wrote a full essay about it.

1) All living things have energy fields -- auras is another word for this. Have you ever had the experience of feeling someone else's personality and energy while you were close to them? You were in contact with their energy fields. An archangel's energy field spans the solar system, but you have to attune yourself to it by prayer or other means to interact with it.

3) Get an indigo (dark blue, roughly the color of brand new blue jeans) candle. Look up the hours of Saturn on each Saturday -- there are plenty of planetary hour calculators online -- and during one of those hours, burn the candle for a few minutes; while it burns, say a prayer to Saturn asking for what you want, and then sit silent and attentive for a while. Planetary charity should be $3, $30, or $300, and should be done three times; the best recipient is any charity that helps elderly people or the poor, since these are both under Saturn's rulership.

In terms of what to work with Saturn on, would something like this work:

1) to strengthen my patience, hard work, and discipline in my works and life, to understand the nature of reality, cause and effect deeply and to be wise, to be able to personify justice.

2) are there any other positive things one can engage with saturn on?

3) Can the above request be made in one go or should type of attribute be split up per round of charity?

Yes, all of this is appropriate; Saturn rules many other things, from philosophy to agriculture; and I recommend focusing on one thing at a time.

On 1, does this type of interaction with the energy field of an archangel have effects on us (physical, mental, emotional, changes in consciousness etc)?

Yes, of course. If you interact with the energy field of anyone or anything at all, it affects you -- but of course an archangel has a much stronger field and so the intensity of the effect is much greater.
