My books are deliberately somewhat simplified. In particular, they leave out the Enochian work entirely, as that's not suited to everyone and never suited to beginners, and there are lots of other odds and ends of the Golden Dawn system they don't address. Of course there's also the little matter of the GD initiation rituals! My advice has always been to work through my books and then go straight into The Golden Dawn, meditating on all the teachings and rituals and exploring all the practices. Regardie's Ceremonial Magic is also well worth studying and practicing, especially if you're working by yourself. The Ciceros' books are of course first-rate, but there's a lot of overlap between those and my books -- Chic and Tabby set out, as I did, to create courses of study that could get beginners to the point of being able to tackle Regardie's Big Gray Doorstop. Their approach is rather more traditional than mine, which is of course better for some students and less so for others.
