Magic Monday

The image? I field a lot of questions about my books on magic these days, so I've decided to do little capsule summaries of them here, one per week. The book on the left is the current edition of my fifth published book, The Encyclopedia of Natural Magic. I got tired of the torrent of wildly inaccurate books on herb and stone magic, and decided to write one based entirely on medieval and Renaissance sources -- granted, it helped that I'd gotten fairly good at reading Latin by the time I got to work on it. I wrote this before I studied hoodoo with Cat Yronwode, or it would have had much more traditional American conjure in it. It's still a solid book, and one I use myself whenever I need to look up the magical properties of an herb or what have you -- and it's the oldest of my books that's still with its original publisher, for whatever that's worth. If you're interested, you can get a copy here if you live in the US, and at your favorite bookstore if you live elsewhere.
Buy Me A Coffee
Ko-Fi
I've had several people ask about tipping me for answers here, and though I certainly don't require that I won't turn it down. You can use either of the links above to access my online tip jar; Buymeacoffee is good for small tips, Ko-Fi is better for larger ones. (I used to use PayPal but they developed an allergy to free speech, so I've developed an allergy to them.) If you're interested in political and economic astrology, or simply prefer to use a subscription service to support your favorite authors, you can find my Patreon page here and my SubscribeStar page here.

And don't forget to look up your Pangalactic New Age Soul Signature at CosmicOom.com.
With that said, have at it!
***This Magic Monday is now closed -- as in, no further comments will be put through. See you next week!***
Geomancy questions
Date: 2023-11-20 11:57 pm (UTC)I'd like to ask for a second pair of eyes on a house chart drawn up about relocating to a certain place. I find myself having to leave my current situation in an unexpected hurry and feel a tad unprepared, but other divinations have helped me narrow down where to go from here. This chart came about after those efforts, asking Taphthartharath if this pace I'd found would be the right pace for me to go from here: https://georatio.com/?c=371e&t=1&d=4&s=2&q=
As you can see, the answer appears to be "yes", courtesy Caput Draconis in the 5th conjunct Fortuna Minor in the 4th. The quesited's figure bodes well for my situation - a fast change à la Fortuna Minor seems precisely what's in order given my circumstances. I'm not terribly sure how to interpret Caput Draconis, other than its being a sign of starting out somewhat anew. The Index falling in the 2nd with Laetitia seems to me to suggest the move, if undertaken, would be in line with some prosperous spiritual influence on the situation. Part of Fortune in the 10th - I'm not tremendously sure what to make out of that, other than the idea that my career might come into a quietly peaceful period? That'd make sense as the location in question is considerably closer to one of the hub cities of the music I've made a career playing, where many of my colleagues live, and so it'd be a good base of operations, one which would lend itself to being able to work steadily. Also I notice that the quesited's figure passes to the 11th house of friends and coworkers.
I'm wondering if you can offer a slightly more thorough interpretation of the answer, though. My skills seem to be enough to pick up little pieces of the picture but I'm not yet so adept at placing all those puzzle pieces into a coherent whole. Anything you see here, I'd be interested to know. Thanks as always for your time.
Re: Geomancy questions
Date: 2023-11-21 12:42 am (UTC)Beyond that? My experience is that it's very easy to overthink a geomantic reading, and this is rarely helpful. You asked a question and you got a very clear answer; that might be worth accepting.
