Den of Lore

Date: 2017-06-18 04:55 pm (UTC)A great many of the people who voted for Trump did so out of raw desperation, since Clinton offered them nothing but four more years of the same policies that have slammed their faces into the gravel for decades now. That desperation hasn't gone away. The desperate aren't interested in the ongoing shrieks of canned outrage the media and the privileged are directing at Trump -- they assume, not without reason, that the US mainstream media is in the business of retailing propaganda, period, end of sentence -- but if that drags him down, and the result is yet another business-as-usual president in 2021, it's entirely possible that the result will be an explosion of domestic insurgency. Lao Tsu said it best: "When people have nothing left to live for, it is no use threatening them with death."
