Magic Monday

It's getting on for midnight, so we can proceed with a new Magic Monday. Ask me anything about occultism and I'll do my best to answer it. The picture?  That force of nature, William Walker Atkinson, he of the countless pen names -- Yogi Ramacharaka, Theron Q. Dumont, all three of the Three Initiates who wrote The Kybalion, and the list goes on. I mentioned last week that there's a phenomenal amount of classic occult instruction available online, and of course Atkinson is well represented. Since he published much of his best work in the heyday of Theosophy, he had to market it as Wisdom of the Mystic East and paste in what he knew of Hindu traditions, but his beginner's course (which you can download here) is a good introduction to basic occult philosophy; the advanced course (available here -- you'll also need a copy of Mabel Collins' classic text Light on the Path, which you can get here) builds on that; and if you have any interest in physical exercise, breathing methods, and the like, this book of Atkinson's will give you a good idea of what occultists taught back in the day.
