Magic Monday

It's getting on for midnight, so we can proceed with a new Magic Monday. Ask me anything about occultism and I'll do my best to answer it. The illustration on the left? That's the Monas Hieroglyphica of Dr. John Dee, the great Elizabethan astrologer, alchemist, occultist, and mage. The simplest version of what it means is over here to the right, which is part of a page from Dee's book: the Latin words mean Moon, Sun, Elements, and Fire. It's also the emblem of Mercury rising from the emblem of Aries, and much, much more. If you want to try your hand at solving the riddle of its deeper meaning, here you go.
