strange dominions logoI'm pleased to announce two more podcasts featuring yours truly. Yes, I know, they're coming fast and thick -- well, fast, at least; I hope they're not especially thick!

The first is on the recently founded podcast Strange Dominions, with hosts Octavion and Alden. Strange Dominions bills itself as "an eclectic podcast which aims to bridge the gap between the paranormal and the occult." Our lively conversation certainly fit the bill -- we talked about everything from druidry and the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn to BHMs (Big Hairy Monsters) and other cryptid or para-cryptid fauna. You can check it out here:

everything imaginableIn the second show, I return to the Everything Imaginable podcast with host Gary Cocciolillo, and the subject is my recent book The Twilight of Pluto.  It was another interesting conversation, and a good intro to the way that planetary influences shape human history. You can have a listen here:

There'll be more podcasts down the road a bit -- I've been getting an unusual number of requests of late, partly due to the hard work of the publicity people at a couple of my publishers, partly because the Pluto book seems to have hit a nerve.  Stay tuned...

Loving all the John Michael Greer appearances and also the occasional glimpse of that rascal Don Nigel Sneer! Long may whoever makes the appearances happen succeed!

but better noted as dense, lots of goodness packed all together rather than just airheadedness
High Density of info, into the thick of the action rather than on the fringes of the fringe

I'm sure that it violates podcast-guest protocol (not to mention general anti-pokenoseyness) to respond to, "Hey, we really love Solomonic Goetia magic!" with "Wow, you guys should really be careful," much less with "Are you guys huffing mineral spirits?" So well done, but I'm curious... just how hard were you biting your lip?

I assume there are probably ways to do this safely and responsibly, and observe that these guys seem well-informed enough to be aware of that and take appropriate precautions, but still... ::shudder::

I like listening to podcasts where you’re on as a guest. They tend to be interesting but you also come across as really nice and polite and well mannered which I think is nice. 😁

Anyways, I wasn’t sure if I’d be ordering the Twilight of Pluto any time soon as I have other reading to do but I think the podcasts on the topic have really sold me on it!

Thank you for doing podcasts; for me they are Radio, but radio I can choose to listen to.
Lots of house cleaning gets done.
(My dog, an old breed AfghanX girl made me get rid of the TV well over twenty yrs ago.)

My tiny bit of reaction that could be useful, informative maybe, is this.

It has to do with the German (and Irish) peculiar usage of "h."
The H is often slippery like Coyote, or "Schmee-au" as I just learned from a podcast Nick Zentner did with Wenatchee Randy Lewis in Washington (state).

To the point: lots of "h"s in German are completely silent and interesting only because of etymology.

Maybe you were thinking "thorn" in the middle of "Werther.
No. It's a hard "t."
Wert-er is related to someone (-er) who stands watch.
Same for Gunther. It's pronounced with a hard T.

Also the word that flumoxed me when I was brought to Germany (after infancy in Minnesota and two years in India --no, my parents were not hippies) the designation for drugstore in Germany: Apotheke.
[a-po-te'-ke] with the "te'" being a long "e" sound.
The Dehnungs-h.

Irish, the old version which I started learning with Caitriona Wandersleb-Hertz (Crian and O'Byrne her parents), does something similar with the modern "h." It took the place of a dot.
Literally. Aspirating the previous t'ing was marked by a fat dot.
E.g.: ni bheith mo leitheid aris aun

the B and the T would have dots on them, instead of spelling the "h".

BTW, that phrase was on a pin Cait got a great laugh from.
Ni bheid mo' leitheid ari's aun--
(sorry, can't get the keyboard aligned)
which means: there'll never be the likes of us again.

Anyway, the "h" im Werther is silent and dead. Like Werter.
