Open (More or Less) Post on Covid 6

The semi-open posts  I've hosted here on the Covid-19 narrative, the inadequately tested experimental drugs for it, and the whole cascading mess surrounding them have continued to field a gargantuan (and increasing) number of comments, so I'm opening another space for discussion. The rules are the same as before: 

1. If you plan on parroting the party line of the medical industry and its paid shills, please go away. This is a place for people to talk openly, honestly, and freely about their concerns that the party line in question is dangerously flawed and that actions being pushed by the medical industry et al. are causing injury and death. It is not a place for you to dismiss those concerns. Anyone who wants to hear the official story and the arguments in favor of it can find those on hundreds of thousands of websites.

2. If you plan on insisting that the current situation is the result of a deliberate plot by some villainous group of people or other, please go away. There are tens of thousands of websites currently rehashing various conspiracy theories about the Covid-19 outbreak and the vaccines. This is not one of them. What we're exploring is the likelihood that what's going on is the product of the same arrogance, incompetence, and corruption that the medical industry and its tame politicians have displayed so abundantly in recent decades. That possibility deserves a space of its own for discussion, and that's what we're doing here. 

3. If you don't believe in treating people with common courtesy, please go away. I have, and enforce, a strict courtesy policy on my blogs and online forums, and this is no exception. The sort of schoolyard bullying that takes place on so many other internet forums will get you deleted and banned here. No, I don't care if you disagree with that: my journal, my rules. 

With that said, the floor is open for discussion.

Sorry, what's your point?

For decades the policy here in Oz has been no nuclear power, and no nuclear weapons. This is not just a question of the propulsion mechanism for boats. Instead, this represents a quantum shift.

It's a small shift from diesel to nuclear power vessels, and from there to nuclear power stations (which our politicians have already started lobbying for on the back of the sub news), and from there to becoming the World's receptacle for nuclear waste. Because hey, it's not as if Oz doesn't have enough nuclear fallout right? Buried skin deep at Maralinga, or dispersed over the landscape all the way from SA to Vic.

As for nuclear weapons, well gee, the Oz government wanted those back in the day, but was locked out of the club by it's big brothers - although Oz was still a good enough place for our masters to test their weapons. We were even good enough sons of empire to send our dead fetuses back to the motherland for analysis.

I bet though that the appetite for nuclear armament down here in the Southern Hemisphere is more palatable among our northern hemisphere masters now that China is on the rise.

And it seems to me that the Oz Government has exploited the lockdowns to push through whatever it wants. Nobody can protest.

Why?

Because covid. Everyone is in lockdown.

I found the nuclear sub announcement very upsetting at the time. But I'm hoping it won't be as bad as I fear.

Why? Because the first nuclear subs aren't supposed to be in the water for 20 years - with any luck global civilization will have collapsed before then.

Or hopefully this will just be more tribute for empire (joint strike fighter anyone?) rather than something that will actually happen. I can imagine an increased need for a 'universal basic income' is necessary for the American military industrial complex now that it doesn't have Afghanistan to keep the cash flowing. With any luck results will not be required, just treasure.
