I don't know whether someone with more biochemistry than me could clarify this.
I have wondered whether the virus could evolve to be able to use the spike protein subunits that are supposed to be made by the body as a result of the jab.
Then you would see the newly vaccinated absolutely getting swamped by the disease all of a sudden because the virus would have half of its work already done -- after all a virus is basically a molecular machine that is trying to make more of itself. If the body is already making half the proteins it needs, a strain that can cash in on that would have an evolutionary advantage in the newly vaccinated.
