Just to add a bit more colour to this: what has been announced is that the UK government will not be going forward with vaccine passports for now in *in England* (I have always suspected it was more of a successful cudgel to get young people vaccinated than anything else).
However, under the devolved powers, Scotland will be going ahead with vaccine passports (the vote passed a couple days ago in the Scottish Parliament) and Northern Ireland and Wales have not yet decided. However, it is indeed good news that England, with more than 80% of the population in the country will not be going ahead (although the vaccination of 12-15 year olds is definitely going ahead despite the JCVI recommendation against it).
