Open (More or Less) Post on Covid 4

The semi-open posts  I've hosted here on the Covid-19 narrative, the inadequately tested experimental drugs for it, and the whole cascading mess surrounding them have continued to field a huge number of comments, so I'm opening another space for discussion. The rules are the same as before: 

1. If you plan on parroting the party line of the medical industry and its paid shills, please go away. This is a place for people to talk openly, honestly, and freely about their concerns that the party line in question is dangerously flawed and that actions being pushed by the medical industry et al. are causing injury and death. It is not a place for you to dismiss those concerns. Anyone who wants to hear the official story and the arguments in favor of it can find those on hundreds of thousands of websites.

2. If you plan on insisting that the current situation is the result of a deliberate plot by some villainous group of people or other, please go away. There are tens of thousands of websites currently rehashing various conspiracy theories about the Covid-19 outbreak and the vaccines. This is not one of them. What we're exploring is the likelihood that what's going on is the product of the same arrogance, incompetence, and corruption that the medical industry and its tame politicians have displayed so abundantly in recent decades. That possibility deserves a space of its own for discussion, and that's what we're doing here. 

3. If you don't believe in treating people with common courtesy, please go away. I have, and enforce, a strict courtesy policy on my blogs and online forums, and this is no exception. The sort of schoolyard bullying that takes place on so many other internet forums will get you deleted and banned here. No, I don't care if you disagree with that: my journal, my rules. 

With that said, the floor is open for discussion.

While I remember reading that there were Wiccan groups that were doing ceremonies to "exorcise" Trump, I susupect that your ordinary solitary amateur practitioner is much more likely to cast spells or summon spirits of unknown provenance with personal gain in mind. There are probablly many such people--who read a book on practical magic, lit a candle, summoned who-knows-who, and made a request. I did this a couple of times myself.

My guess is that most such people are seeking one of two or three things. The favorites are perhaps money or love. I can easily imagine people casting spells requesting that they get money so that they need not work--or that they be freed from having to put up with other people (a common reason for not wanting to work). Casting spells to obtain a lover or particular lover is probably unrelated to current-events scenarios.

If spell-casting along those lines (except for love) was widespread, what we may be seeing is that they got what they asked for: extended unemployment with extra money, along with lockdowns and social distancing.

The spirits who were contacted would not necessariy be evil. I tend to think that few people really want to summon demons. Normally I think that the amateur practitioner is summoning elementals. Ironically, such a practitioner would be summoning these elementals (forces of nature) to make requests in contravention of nature and natural law. While I don't know anything about the mental processes of elementals, it seems to me that granting such requests within the framework of natural law might amuse them. If they were interested in the spiritual advancement of humans (doubtful), they might view the granting of such requests as a fine medicinal project on human consciousness--as well as a pretty good joke.

I think it was Nock who said (more or less) that Nature always gets her pennyworth for her penny. The effects on the spell-casters' consciousness? In the near term, I would guess they would be a descent into "unreality" and perhaps something not far from madness.
