Pope Francis is 82 years old. So it's very possible his health is starting to deteriorate. He also has an underlying condition that doesn't seem to get mentioned very often. He has only one lung, having lost the other to an infection early in his life. Most people can function well with one lung, though they may be more vulnerable if respiratory issues crop up as they age.
