smudge for the winWe are now in the fourth year of these open posts. When I first posted a tentative hypothesis on the course of the Covid phenomenon, I had no idea that discussion on the subject would still be necessary more than three years later, much less that it would turn into so lively, complex, and troubling a conversation. Still, here we are. Crude death rates and other measures of collapsing public health are anomalously high in many countries, but nobody in authority wants to talk about the inadequately tested experimental Covid injections that are the most likely cause; public health authorities government shills for the pharmaceutical industry are still trying to push through laws that will allow them to force vaccinations on anyone they want; public trust in science is collapsing; and the story continues to unfold.

So it's time for another open post. The rules are the same as before:

1. If you plan on parroting the party line of the medical industry and its paid shills, please go away. This is a place for people to talk openly, honestly, and freely about their concerns that the party line in question is dangerously flawed and that actions being pushed by the medical industry and its government enablers are causing injury and death on a massive scale. It is not a place for you to dismiss those concerns. Anyone who wants to hear the official story and the arguments in favor of it can find those on hundreds of thousands of websites.

2. If you plan on insisting that the current situation is the result of a deliberate plot by some villainous group of people or other, please go away. There are tens of thousands of websites currently rehashing various conspiracy theories about the Covid-19 outbreak and the vaccines. This is not one of them. What we're exploring is the likelihood that what's going on is the product of the same arrogance, incompetence, and corruption that the medical industry and its wholly owned politicians have displayed so abundantly in recent decades. That possibility deserves a space of its own for discussion, and that's what we're doing here.

3. If you plan on using rent-a-troll derailing or disruption tactics, please go away. I'm quite familiar with the standard tactics used by troll farms to disrupt online forums, and am ready, willing, and able -- and in fact quite eager -- to ban people permanently for engaging in them here. Oh, and I also lurk on other Covid-19 vaccine skeptic blogs, so I'm likely to notice when the same posts are showing up on more than one venue.

4. If you plan on making off topic comments, please go away. This is an open post for discussion of the Covid epidemic, the vaccines, drugs, policies, and other measures that supposedly treat it, and other topics directly relevant to those things. It is not a place for general discussion of unrelated topics. Nor is it a place to ask for medical advice; giving such advice, unless you're a licensed health care provider, legally counts as practicing medicine without a license and is a crime in the US. Don't even go there.

5. If you don't believe in treating people with common courtesy, please go away. I have, and enforce, a strict courtesy policy on my blogs and online forums, and this is no exception. The sort of schoolyard bullying that takes place on so many other internet forums will get you deleted and banned here. Also, please don't drag in current quarrels about sex, race, religions, etc. No, I don't care if you disagree with that: my journal, my rules.

6. Please don't just post bare links without explanation. A sentence or two telling readers what's on the other side of the link is a reasonable courtesy, and if you don't include it, your attempted post will be deleted.

Please also note that nothing posted here should be construed as medical advice, which neither I nor the commentariat (excepting those who are licensed medical providers) are qualified to give. Please take your medical questions to the licensed professional provider of your choice.

With that said, the floor is open for discussion.

"This finds me hunkering down. Eating lots of red meat. Hours of walking in the lovely spring weather. It's taking me a lot of energy to stay grounded."

Yeah - not as much right now, but steak for breakfast has been a thing over the last couple of months.
Also working outside is definitely a 'Good Thing(™)' - maybe not as good as disappearing up a hidden mountain, but helps noticeably.

I'm going to agree with the sentiment that LLMs are basically evil, and perhaps technology generally. I think it actually stems from that binary thinking; the digital world is either a 1 or a 0, and even though that system can be used to generate shades of grey, there is a basic way in which subtlety and nuance is missing from every discussion. The older I get, the more I realise that absolutely everything is complicated and simple answers are always wrong...and that's the basis of technology.

Two years ago I got a revelation about how civilizations die of brain-death.

I had an epiphany that at some people at some point through addiction or other destructive behaviour a specific hemisphere becomes dominant and it degenerates and that makes the other also atrophy or compete in the degeneration... they both fight each other by fighting the center and when the center is gone they join themselves in extremism.

This happens to people, countries and civilisation, I think is a fractalic expression of the human brain part of the mind expressed to scale.

I think is part a phenomenon that brought Christianity in Ancient Rome and maybe some other religions in history.

I noticed this peculiarity, every time extreme left and extreme right encounter the center they gang on it to stomp on it.

I've certainly had the feeling that it's time to batten down the hatches and can appreciate the old idea of disappearing up a mountain to avoid the humans.

The human impact is everywhere, just an example:

Mountain guy here, yesterday was the first day I met two different bears in a span of 5 minutes, my Romanian Bucovina Shepard dog started barking, I whistled with both a normal very loud whistle and a dog whistle. And the big bear momma was above 30-40 meters (almost 45' degrees steep forest). Saw me it and run the dog after it, although I wanted to look after some mushrooms since they were in the direction of the momma bear I started to go down. (Dog doesn't get too close but instinct is to chase...) As I was alone with the dog after the bear momma, walking 4-5 minutes another rather curious, bear 70 meters beneath me, the whole procedures with whistles...

Moral is decline is everywhere, wildlife in Romania is totally out of control, because, the European eco-obsession, while they don't have **any** big predators they kind of love Romania to have the quota for the whole Europe.

Boars where so exceedingly many that at some point an epidemic of sort brought them to less then one in thirty if not less the on in fifty or so... So the policy is both dangerous for wildlife and humans.

I think si a form of accepted eco-terrorism given that you have useless cell-phone alerts going all the time, useless because they are post-factum and is for a very wide area.

The best years of a useful internet may have (or soon have) passed!

I've seen plenty of evidence that Internet peaked in 2005, which is interesting since it is the peak of conventional oil too... Every year after 2005 convinced me that internet peaked in 2005.

What is being done to Internet and information is the equivalent of fracking, just push this highly pressurized toxic mix in those intricate pipes to squeeze more information out of it.

I think those Linux/Python (OS/language of choice for LLMs) pipes looks something like this (a frack head):

Here in the Open Thread we made the parallel between the Chernobyl and BOVID fiasco.

I think the more it goes, the more it shares characteristics:

- incident turned into an accident;
- sabotage (yes there are Russian sources now claming that it was also sabotage, the response and procedures were rather not appropriate to the rather minor incident so far from the book as to actually generate something bad)
- as a catalyzer for the greater collapse of a larger System/Empire

Good point! I remember seeing a graph of vaccination rate by profession. Children of physicians and nurses are among the least likely to be vaccinated.

The mental image I use for LLM is a hangar filled with Nigerian helpdesk operators equipped with tooling and caching. If Nigerians feel a lack of empathy for Westerners that is perhaps not unjustified.

+1 on the lightness. Things that would have been unpleasant on a psychological level seem to be disentangling, letting up. It's still possible to fall off the wagon (because "tracks in space") if not paying attention, but it's as if the playing field is leveled and the choice is open now. Refreshing.

I think you nailed it.

I've heard it said many times that apostates are always hated more than heathens. Trump was once a Democrat, but he's always been seen by the elite as a philistine with all the wrong tastes and behaviors - "not really one of us, dear". His defection to the Republican party and subsequent success makes them very angry - but Musk and Kennedy are worse. They were, you know, "better quality" - also Democrats, but not so crass, a purveyor of expensive "save the world" electric car status symbols in one case, and an upper-crust environmental lawyer in the other. They were darlings of the PMC set before they weren't. And from what I'm seeing I think they actually hate them even more than the orange bad man. (I think this also ties back to the covid response as a status symbol - the right kind of people stayed home on their laptops and bought into everything that went along with that, while the wrong kind of people kept picking up the trash and delivering pizza and figured out the whole thing was BS, but if you agree with them you might as well be one of them - or worse than them, really, because you at least ought to know better.)

Maybe it's just me, but something else I've noticed is that more people seem to be refusing to engage with TDS (MDS/KDS). Someone upthread mentioned staying silent and watching the silence, or saying things like "yes yes, orange bad man very bad" and changing the subject. Upon reflection, I feel like it's been a long time since I saw anyone try and engage with the PMC's derangement syndromes. Even in mixed company, you'll get the eruption, maybe seconded by other believers, but no push back. People seem to have gotten better at treating it like a toddler's temper tantrum - don't argue, just murmur a few soothing words while they get it out of their system, then redirect their attention elsewhere. It's very different than it was a few years back, and least from my data points.

Actually, I’ve been thinking that people I know are getting a little less rigid. But these are mostly people I really like(d) who got caught up in TDS and seem to have gotten a little more in touch with reality since losing the election. I don’t have much contact with the general public, what with being a staunch homebody and now having to take an infant and a toddler along if I want to go somewhere. I wonder if some of those people—of whom I expected better—are starting to separate themselves from the more dysfunctional aspects of the current group mind?

Unbelievable. RFK Jr says corruption at NIH is the SOLE REASON there isn’t a cure for Alzheimer’s:

“For 20 years, because of utter corruption and fraud, we were directing Alzheimer’s research to one hypothesis, and any other hypothesis was shut down.

We should have the cure for Alzheimer’s today. We don’t have it PURELY because of corruption at NIH. And we are going to have it quickly.”

Coyote Girl— about respecting one's own gut feelings. I would second that.

I believe that I was guided, many years ago, to pay heed to Dr. John Lilly's message about the Solid State Entity. Not sure Dr. L had it quite right, but the basic idea, yes— that's my gut feeling about it.

"Don't ever argue with crazy even if it makes me look like the crazy one."

One of my favourites is:
‘Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.’
...though if I look back and think about heated discussions where I appear to have come out well, these days I wonder if it is me who is the idiot and my experience in that has simply stood me in good stead.

I've been experiencing the same lightening of mood. The gorgeous spring weather could be playing a part. It also could be that last year's divorce bombshell is receding into the rear view mirror for me.

Whatever the reason, even though I still live among a large tribe of TDS true believers, and little has objectively changed, I feel steadier on my feet somehow. I have a better perception about what I can and cannot change, Much closer to full acceptance of "the full catastrophe" (to steal a good phrase from Zorba the Greek!)
