I don't know about UK but about the US Empire I have three models, one based on ancient Rome, one based on Soviet Union, and one model that is sourced in peak oil.
The Ancient Rome based model shows things will begin in the second half of 2027 in earnest. In this model the strife will last at least 18 years... with a short lived rebound in about 30 years (a decade or two or so) The Soviet Union based model shows that things will begin in earnest at the end of 2026, in this model struggle will take at least 20 years with a possible rebound in 23 years that may last relatively to how much steam that rebound has. The Peak Oil model anywhere between tomorrow and the second half of 2026 at the latest. In this model I cannot see beyong 2026
