bullies, all of themWe are now in the fourth year of these open posts. When I first posted a tentative hypothesis on the course of the Covid phenomenon, I had no idea that discussion on the subject would still be necessary more than three years later, much less that it would turn into so lively, complex, and troubling a conversation. Still, here we are. Crude death rates and other measures of collapsing public health are anomalously high in many countries, but nobody in authority wants to talk about the inadequately tested experimental Covid injections that are the most likely cause; public health authorities government shills for the pharmaceutical industry are still trying to push through laws that will allow them to force vaccinations on anyone they want; public trust in science is collapsing; and the story continues to unfold.

So it's time for another open post. The rules are the same as before:

1. If you plan on parroting the party line of the medical industry and its paid shills, please go away. This is a place for people to talk openly, honestly, and freely about their concerns that the party line in question is dangerously flawed and that actions being pushed by the medical industry and its government enablers are causing injury and death on a massive scale. It is not a place for you to dismiss those concerns. Anyone who wants to hear the official story and the arguments in favor of it can find those on hundreds of thousands of websites.

2. If you plan on insisting that the current situation is the result of a deliberate plot by some villainous group of people or other, please go away. There are tens of thousands of websites currently rehashing various conspiracy theories about the Covid-19 outbreak and the vaccines. This is not one of them. What we're exploring is the likelihood that what's going on is the product of the same arrogance, incompetence, and corruption that the medical industry and its wholly owned politicians have displayed so abundantly in recent decades. That possibility deserves a space of its own for discussion, and that's what we're doing here.

3. If you plan on using rent-a-troll derailing or disruption tactics, please go away. I'm quite familiar with the standard tactics used by troll farms to disrupt online forums, and am ready, willing, and able -- and in fact quite eager -- to ban people permanently for engaging in them here. Oh, and I also lurk on other Covid-19 vaccine skeptic blogs, so I'm likely to notice when the same posts are showing up on more than one venue.

4. If you plan on making off topic comments, please go away. This is an open post for discussion of the Covid epidemic, the vaccines, drugs, policies, and other measures that supposedly treat it, and other topics directly relevant to those things. It is not a place for general discussion of unrelated topics. Nor is it a place to ask for medical advice; giving such advice, unless you're a licensed health care provider, legally counts as practicing medicine without a license and is a crime in the US. Don't even go there.

5. If you don't believe in treating people with common courtesy, please go away. I have, and enforce, a strict courtesy policy on my blogs and online forums, and this is no exception. The sort of schoolyard bullying that takes place on so many other internet forums will get you deleted and banned here. Also, please don't drag in current quarrels about sex, race, religions, etc. No, I don't care if you disagree with that: my journal, my rules.

6. Please don't just post bare links without explanation. A sentence or two telling readers what's on the other side of the link is a reasonable courtesy, and if you don't include it, your attempted post will be deleted.

Please also note that nothing posted here should be construed as medical advice, which neither I nor the commentariat (excepting those who are licensed medical providers) are qualified to give. Please take your medical questions to the licensed professional provider of your choice.

With that said, the floor is open for discussion.

Since this is the age of Serous But Not Literal, it's useful to remember that the increasingly diminutive AMA would probably not be taking the initiative in any such inquisition. Things have changed a lot in 75 years.

The history of medical organization, education, and so on is interesting, and well-studied. Suffice it to say that, in the 19th century (and before), medical practice in the US was pretty unrestricted, unstandardized, untrained and at the best unreliable. For various reasons, there was a reform movement, part of which was an opposition to "quackery" (which began with movements against eg lye in medicines, or frequently lethal remedies), part of which was a reform of medical education, and part of which was certification of medical providers. And elimination of rivals. Again seriously but not literally, “Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket.”

(A good, brief survey of much of this can be found in a couple of chapters of Randall Collins' The Credential Society.)

However, the key is this. No matter how sensible regulations may be in principle, they are a two-edged weapon. Once they are in place, they can be used by any number of people, who can put them to any number of uses, or abuses. One of these is to shut people up (or down, or out). Even a reasonable code of conduct, or statement of ethical principles, can be put to factional purposes. Once such a regulatory train has left the station, it can be very hard to turn around. People who are targeted by such complaints can be put to a great deal of trouble, and expense, to defend themselves, even against absurd charges. "The process is the punishment."

It's a matter of basic risk management to try to reduce one's vulnerability to attacks from ill-wishers. This is especially true for vulnerabilities that are marginal, or irrelevant, to what one is trying to do.

OK Celadon, this is information I have collated from positive mentions on this forum over the last few months. Much of it may have originated from the FLCCC/IMA.

I have not tried it for long covid myself and am not saying it will work for you, though naturally I hope you soon find something that does!

These are the rumours:
Spike protein detox — Remedies that can help inhibit, neutralize and eliminate spike protein include Prunella vulgaris, pine needle tea, emodin, neem, dandelion extract and ivermectin. Dr. Pierre Kory believes ivermectin may be the best approach to bind the circulating spike protein.

Spike protein neutralizers, which prevent the spike from damaging cells, include N-acetylcysteine (NAC), glutathione, fennel tea, star anise tea, pine needle tea, St John’s wort, comfrey tea and vitamin C.

Further possible resources are
nattokinase
lumbrokinase
lactoferrin with benadryl (are synergistic used together)
methylene blue
nicotine patch + black seed oil, with St John’s wort as needed

Yes, yes, Yes! I grew up on, and love all those albums, maybe especially TOTO. My most recent one, "Union" (probably 20-years old) didn't grab me at first, but it's grown on me. I suppose thta's sort of true for all their albums. Maybe not Tormoto.

I love Roger Dean’s work. But now it’s out of fashion. Why does the best fall out of favor while inferior stuff becomes more popular?

There’s a fairly recent interview in which Dean sketches out the story that back in the day FDR and Rockefeller got together and decided that Abstract Expressionism and Modernism more generally would be promoted as ideological opposition to Soviet cultural influence - viz., that art would be in effect a political tool. So the Rockefeller influence on the arts would seem to operate in a somewhat similar way to Rockefeller medicine, in both cases with calamitous effect.

Data point of one, and YMMV...

In fall of 2020 I got a bug that I assumed was coronavirus, got over it in about 2-1/2 weeks, and thought I was done with it. Then I discovered that, apparently, the connective tissue in my body was somehow trashed. Sprained my back in two places from ridiculously trivial moves, and couldn't wear my glasses without a pad anymore because the skin of my nose collapsed under the nose pieces-- and hurt.

A couple years later, I got another bout of coronavirus, and slammed it with repeated doses of VIM ("Vitamin I" ;) ). Not only was this bout of coronavirus chased off, but my tendon/skin etc woes largely went away too. Again, not advice, just my personal experience.

Here's a series of comment threads where people were talking about VIM:

The CASE fatality rate for bird flu strains in the past had been 50%. (The infection fatality rate would have been lower because less severe cases were less likely to be diagnosed.) However, we've now had over 50 cases of bird flu in the US and only one death, for a fatality rate under 2%.

Caveats: 1. This is a rich country, most victims aren't malnourished. 2. Many cases seem to be people who got it by splashed milk from infected cows or airborne virus contacting the eyes rather than being inhaled, so they got mostly conjunctivitis. If it started spreading human to human by breathing it would be getting into the lungs and might be more dangerous. 3. Most cases have been people working with animals, so not children or the elderly; a Canadian child spent weeks in the ICU.

Still, it's clear that this strain is not as dangerous so far as past strains.

As a matter of historical information, a large clinical trial was published that compared a European elderberry and echinacea product to Tamiflu in influenza patients and found that the former was as good, and much safer.

Blame the Carnegie-funded Flexner report of 1910. This report claimed to prescribe means of improving America's often shockingly poor medical education system. But it just happened to recommend closing down all non-allopathic medical schools, crushing several modalities. Allopathic medical schools were ordered to remove classes like naturopathy from their curricula or lose accreditation. Likewise, an increase in state boards' power to serve as gatekeepers was called for; they could then refuse to license the incompetent, but also the dissenting.

An explicit goal and outcome was to greatly reduce the number of medical schools - and thereby graduates, which reduced competition. The report intentionally forced the closure of all but two Black medical schools, and demanded that the few Blacks who would still be allowed medical training at those two should be treated as inferiors, allowed to become only "sanitarians" and not surgeons, and allowed to treat only Blacks. Opportunities for women were also constricted, due to the far smaller number of places available and the announcement of Flexner that women didn't really want to go to med school and were only good at pediatrics and the like anyway.

On the more specific topic, it's legal to talk about alternative treatments as long as you aren't getting paid to prescribe, or giving explicit medical "advice" to individual people. JMG is old enough to remember when armed Food and Drug Administration employees would raid herb stores and confiscate books about herbalism, claiming that selling the book under the same roof as the herbs equated to putting disease claims on the herbs, making them misbranded drugs. This is of course a ridiculous legal argument and it hasn't been tried in decades. With the dangerous gibberish that gets spouted on the internet without punishment, nobody these days needs to fear making truthful statements about alternatives, certainly if they're not selling anything. But corporate power is on the rise, so I'd better include some caveat: PROBABLY.

Fatality rates have a denominator problem, particularly when dealing with a new bug that doesn't show up on standard diagnostic tests (or that is readily confused with other common illnesses).

I remember when covid had a fatality rate of 17% in the early days. If you only test folks in the ICU, then it looks that way. As testing ramped up, the fatality rate kept creeping downward until it was well under 1%.

It's hard to say where this might end up relative to covid if it evolves to readily transmit between humans and starting in the lungs. Likely - as is the case with other flu strains - it will be more of risk to children than covid is/was. But I think it's safe to assume that the actual infection fatality rate will be far lower than 50%.

At this link is the full list of all of the requests for prayer that have recently appeared at ecosophia.net and ecosophia.dreamwidth.org, as well as in the comments of the prayer list posts. Please feel free to add any or all of the requests to your own prayers.

If I missed anybody, or if you would like to add a prayer request for yourself or anyone who has given you consent (or for whom a relevant person holds power of consent) to the list, please feel free to leave a comment below and/or in the comments at the current prayer list post.

* * *

This week I would like to bring special attention to the following prayer requests.

May Jennifer, who is now 38+ weeks into pregnancy with the baby still in breech position, have a safe and healthy pregnancy, may the delivery go smoothly, and may her baby be born healthy and blessed.

May Jack H's father John, whose aortic dissection is considered inoperable and likely fatal by his current doctors, be healed, and make a physical recovery to the full extent that providence allows, and be able to enjoy more time together with his loved ones.

May Goats and Roses' son A, who had a serious concussion weeks ago and is still suffering from the effects, regain normal healthy brain function, and rebuild his physical strength back to normal, and regain his zest for life. And may Goats and Roses be granted strength and effectiveness in finding solutions to the medical and caregiving matters that need to be addressed, and the grief and strain of the situation.

May Other Dave's father Michael Orwig, who has been in the hospital since 1/20 with almost complete liver failure and 20% kidney function, have found the strength to survive and thrive when he recently came off of his respirator, and may he be blessed with robust healing that allows him to regenerate his failing organs to the fullest extent that the universe allows; may his wife Allyn and the rest of his family be blessed and supported in this difficult time.

May Kevin’s sister Cynthia be cured of the hallucinations and delusions that have afflicted her, and freed from emotional distress. May she be safely healed of the physical condition that has provoked her emotions; and may she be healed of the spiritual condition that brings her to be so unsettled by it. May she come to feel calm and secure in her physical body, regardless of its level of health.

May Viktoria have a safe and healthy pregnancy, and may the baby be born safe, healthy and blessed. May Marko have the strength, wisdom and balance to face the challenges set before him. (picture)

May Linda from the Quest Bookshop of the Theosophical Society, who has developed a turbo cancer, be blessed and have a speedy and full recovery from cancer.

May Frank R. Hartman, who lost his house in the Altadena fire, and all who have been affected by the larger conflagration be blessed and healed.

May Corey Benton, who is currently in hospital and whose throat tumor has grown around an artery and won't be treated surgically, be healed of throat cancer. He is not doing well, and consents to any kind of distance healing offered. [Note: Healing Hands should be fine, but if offering energy work which could potentially conflict with another, please first leave a note in comments or write to randomactsofkarmasc to double check that it's safe] (1/7)

May Open Space's friend's mother
Judith
be blessed and healed for a complete recovery from cancer.

May Peter Van Erp's friend Kate Bowden's husband Russ Hobson and his family be enveloped with love as he follows his path forward with the glioblastoma (brain cancer) which has afflicted him.

May Scotlyn's friend Fiona, who has been in hospital since early October with what is a diagnosis of ovarian cancer, be blessed and healed, and encouraged in ways that help her to maintain a positive mental and spiritual outlook.

May Peter Evans in California, who has been diagnosed with colon cancer, be completely healed with ease, and make a rapid and total recovery.

May Jennifer and Josiah, their daughter Joanna, and their unborn daughter be protected from all harmful and malicious influences, and may any connection to malign entities or hostile thought forms or projections be broken and their influence banished.

This is fascinating. I truly hope that enough swamp gets drained that this kind of pressure on the little guys might be put on the back foot for a little while.

Do you ever consider banging the Peak Oil drum again at least once in a while? I know you felt that you said everything you wanted to say, but by this point a new generation could really use hearing it, too. Yours was always the voice on the matter I consistently found most sensible-- I showed up at a time that all the magic and mysticism stuff was mostly on the back burner, so by the time "Blood of the Earth" hit you already had enough cred with me to start at least considering the merits of the other stuff.

Also now that "drill baby drill", as well as "build nuclear build" seem to be the energy mantras of Trump 2.0, I'd love to get your Peak Oil OG perspective in a long form essay or seven. Maybe just me :-)

There was a time when "practicing medicine without a licence" was an offence actually prosecuted by the AMA.

However, in recent years, practicing medicine without a licence is an offence actually committed, with perfect impunity, by civil servants (such as those working in agencies such as FDA, CDC and WHO), by pharmacists (such as all those who refused to fill legal prescriptions written by licenced doctors) and by insurance companiesNGO/Pharma joint boards who set the legal "standards of care" against which a licenced doctor's clinical practice can be evaluated and found wanting. ie - all of these entities who ensure that those practicing medicine WITH a licence conform to the pharma-profiteering model in their practices.

And yet, "practicing medicine without a licence" - per the old AMA definition - remains an arrow in the quiver of offences still used to shut down non-Pharma-type medical approaches as and when needed... (See JMG's story, also in this thread).
