I just listened to a Del Bigtree podcast where a guest spoke about about current geoengineering practices. Apparently there's years of public perception about US government (or whomever the powers that be) being ambivalent about geoengineering - or maybe agnostic about it. Apparently there are mechanisms in place to facilitate making it possible for business to experiment with it. Some years ago I read an academic article (now redacted) that criticized chemical emplacement (a.k.a geoengineering).
It's weird to listen to a podcast today that confirms what a redacted article reported several years ago.
