Hi JMG and community, I was wondering how does one determine the energetics (warming vs. cooling, moist vs. dry) of a new food or substance? Trial and error, careful observation? Is divination appropriate for this? I read the essay on elemental healing in "A Magical Education" recently and it was helpful for getting over a nasty bug, so I'm looking into getting the Culpeper books to start learning and tinkering a little more. In particular, though, I was wondering about the energetics of coffee, tea, cane sugar, and hibiscus flower. My searches haven't been successful so far - most places seem to suggest that they'll do whatever I want them to do!
