My sibling's dog learned to smell meth-heads, after getting a taste of one that tried to force his way into sib's house one evening. Apparently liked the flavor, because ever after, he got very excited and would whine and yip at the fence whenever one walked by (super sketchy neighborhood, there were several of them), hoping for another bite.
Dogs have crazy good noses, *and* are good at vibes ;)
