It could be a haunting, it could be something else. It's hard to tell. Over time, if you both keep hearing it and nobody else does, and if your wife hears it when not sleeping on your side of the bed, you'll know it's probably a haunting. Unfortunately there are no faster tests, unless you know a good clairvoyant.
