Rather than loading up on things your child will quickly outgrow, and drawing on my own childhood, I recommend audio recordings your child can "play" hundreds or thousands of times without exhausting. This is, also, fully in keeping with the theme of this thread: great recordings don't easily wear out!
Classical music; sing-alongs; teaching materials such as alphabet songs; perhaps recorded fables (ideally with a teaching element). As an infant, these things will still imprint on your child's memory and shape its development. As a toddler, as the child learns to understand the words, these things will continue to give growing benefit. As your child gets a little older, they will provide a library which the child can learn to play, from time to time, for themselves. As an adult, these things will provide fond memories of its loving and nurturing upbringing...and can be passed on to a new generation!
