I also don't pay much mind to all the scientists and doctors (whom I listened to about covid) now opining about Israel and Hamas and Gaza. Why should I? I'm sure my plumber has opinions about all that, too, and he's a pretty smart guy. I'm sort of joking, but not really.
It also helps to remember that people were panicking about The End of the World back in the Middle Ages. And hey, I guess if Genghis Khan showed up on your doorstep, it was the end of your world.
